We can’t avoid illness and death.
This Monday, my uncle passed away after a long struggle with his disease.
I heard my uncle seemed to be smiling after his heart stopped.
He was really a gentle and calm person.
May he rest in peace.
I’m thinking about what I can do for others in my life.
I really want to help the people who need it.
That’s the meaning of my life.

Use both sides of the tip jar to get the best result!
This story came from my own experience. It started after one of the massage classes I attended back in the days. I descended down the street with my massage model as she decided to look over to one of the bars on Mykhailivska street in Kiev. It seemed to be a run-of-the-mill bar filled with people with a pointless glance under all sorts of substances (illicit included). We took some weird-flavored beer at the counter and proceeded to the table area where had some fun listening to the music, observing people around us and chatting small things. We ran out of the beer stock very soon though. It was at that moment when we decided to have some more beer. So that I came up to the counter looking for another beer flavor as a giant tip jar drew my attention. It's not its volume, but the sign written on it which I noticed that made my day. Now, let me picture the whole thing so that you can guess what wast it that was written on the jar. Mediocre millennials bar. Lots of miners under illicit substances. A young guy against the bar counter serving beers lefts and rights. If you haven't got it yet, it has to do with the thing every guy in his teen-ish is obsessed with.
The sigh asked people to donate the guy for a surgery to prolong his ,,manhood experience,,. Now, if you think this is hilarious, there's only thing i can say. Wait - there is more! After having this last beer charge we felt like we could've used some more of the beverage so I went to the counter once again. Although the barmen stayed at the place and continued serving the visitors, the sighn on the bar had changed. To my mind, it was the best mach the guy could have come up with. It said ,, for the surgery to shorten my ,,manhood experience,,,,. I was bombed. I then gave him a complement as well as a large amount of tips and swiftly took a photo of both sides of the jar. As the guy said, he has his jar turned every half an hour so that everyone is able to see the both sides of it. This way, he gets to get even more tips than before, when there used to be only the prolonged sign on the jar. It was the best tip jar slogan I've ever encountered. Does it seem like that to you as well? Let me know if there are some other great slogans out here, I didn't find much on internet

I'm at school now.Once,I thought about how to prepare for a flight, and not miss it.Sometimes,I notice some people exaggerating their words, telling stories that sound more like fantasy than truth.Currently, about two hundred thousand people live in my city .There are approximately 5 minutes left 'til the end of the break time.I wish I could stop time to get things done.Well, that's all for now.Oh - I remember spinners were once a dime a dozen.

rom

I got to know about an event called a presidential turkey pardon.
John F. Kennedy was the first president to give a Thanksgiving turkey a reprieve. In1963, he received a turkey with a sign around its neck reading, “GOOD EATING, MR. PRESIDENT!” But the president said that let's keep him going. However, this was not an official event.
George H.W. Bush was the first president to issue an official turkey pardon. It was in 1989.
President Lincoln also spared a turkey that his son wanted to keep as a pet. This was not a Thanksgiving turkey, but a Christmas turkey.
Thank you so much for reading!

I've discovered that I have different emotional connections to the languages that I speak. And now I can't stop wondering if it's just me or more people feel this way.
Let me explain. I’m from Galicia (northwest of Spain) and there, we have two official languages, Spanish and Galician. Both are romance languages and have quite a lot of similarities in their structures, grammar and so on… So, both are studied in school and they’re present in everyday life. However, even thought I’m a native in both of them, I find that Spanish for me is just kind of neutral, whereas Galician is like my sweet child that I would fight for until eternity. That being said, I’ve always used so much more Spanish than Galician, but I’m extremely proud of the latter and it saddens me when people belittle it just because it’s smaller (around 3 million speakers).
A large part of my family lives abroad (mainly England and Germany) so when we’re together, usually during summer, it’s a mix of English, German, Spanish and Galician. With time, I became quite fluent at English, but to me is more like a tool. Knowledge of English gives me access to so much more, academically, personally and professionally. So in essence, my connection to English is that it gets me places, so it’s sort like the cool cousin that helps you get where you want.
With German, even though I know practically nothing, I can understand the basics and follow conversations. And my connection to it is also like a cousin that you don’t see very often but with whom you have this special chemistry.
Right now I’m learning Korean and Mandarin, but I didn’t develop a connection yet. I discovered that I love learning Mandarin on my own, just the feeling of learning it and slowly (veeeery slowly) recognize patters and words. And I absolutely love the Korean script and everything on written form, but not a connection yet.
So, summarizing, Spanish is like a neutral friend, Galician is my baby, English is the cool cousin and German the special cousin. Do any of you have some sort of connection like this?
