Translation exercise: Une vie après l'autre de Kate Atkinson

Due to COVID-19.
A lot of people, including myself, have been negatively affected this past year due to COVID-19. Right after finishing my internship in 2019, it was very difficult to find a job in Jordan because very little dental practices were hiring and lot of dentists were shutting down their private dental practices and were having financial challenges. All mentioned factors lead me to consider pursuing my career as a dentist in the USA and follow in my mothers footsteps. Additionally, due to COVID-19 there were no flights from Jordan and I had to delay my Integrated National Board Dental Examination to late December which was later than expected.

I Failed
I left home at 9 am to arrive in time for my driver's license appointment. I passed the theoretical exam with flying colors (I got all of the answers right), but I failed at the practical exam. I was really nervous, but I didn't expect me to fail. My car shut off several times because I was nervous (I counted four, I wish I was kidding) and I touched the sidewalk when making a u turn one time. Those are things that don't usually happen to me, so I'm extremely frustrated. I remember I said to my mum "If I fail after waiting three hours to take the test, I'm going to be very angry", guess what? I am. I wish I had failed at something more difficult like parking, as I wouldn't be this angry if I had. I cried all the way home because I only got myself to blame and I'm very hard on myself when I fail. I can try again, but I feel very stupid and like a failure.

Le 13 janvier - une nouvelle phrase
Aujourd'hui, j'ai appris une nouvelle phrase "être censé". Je suis censé savoir cette expression depuis longtemps mais malgré tout, je ne la savais pas. J'essaie de faire les phrases complètes en l'utilisant que je peux employer dans une conversation quotidienne.
Je suis censé travailler au labo mais à cause du Covid, je reste chez moi
Es-tu censé rester aussi tard au travail ?
La manipulation est censée marcher dans le premier coup mais je n'arrive pas à obtenir des bons résultats depuis ce matin.
Nous sommes censés être plus sages quand nous sommes plus âgés.
J'étais censé partir pour nouvel an en Russie mais des frontières étaient fermées donc j'ai resté en France.
Nous sommes censés être tout vaccinés avant cet été.

Estranheza
Quem já esteve no exterior sabe como é difícil atribuir e reconhecer as coisas. Vc nunca foi num país fora do Brasil, ne? Se você está em outro país e talvez apenas aprendendo o idioma, não saberá os nomes dos bairros e, claro, nem mesmo a sua abreviatura. Talvez no início você nem consiga ver onde está a palavra "leite" em uma caixa de leite. Você nem sabe onde encontrar os laticínios. Se você tiver sorte, reconhecerá uma vaca na caixa e poderá adivinhar. Quando tentei comprar iogurte no Brasil tive que cuspir em casa. O gosto não era o que eu esperava. É o mesmo com todas as áreas da vida. Você começa tudo de novo, comete erros, não ousa fazer nada (por exemplo, pegar um ônibus ou ligar para alguém), e se tiver coragem, será corrigido de novo e de novo. O sabor do kefir é o que você confundiu com iogurte corrigindo você ou um estranho dizendo na bilheteria do museu que você estava na fila errada. Talvez você esteja entrando no ônibus do lado errado. Não se preocupe com isso. Sorria, tente novamente, pergunte novamente, pergunte novamente, diga "Desculpe" 🙏, tente novamente. Você encontrará alguém em todos os países que o ajudará. Quem já esteve em outro país sabe como é. Équilibre entre la vie privée et vie professionnelle
Est-ce qu'il faut faire pour assurer l'équilibre entre la vie privée et celle professionnelle des salariées. Telle est la problématique traitée dans un article sur le site lentreprise.com et une autre sur le site les expansion en 2016.
Tout d'abord, on constate l'importance indéniable de la gestion de temps pour les entreprises, surtout pour les employés. Selon les spécialistes, il est nécessaire d'arranger l'emploi du temps d'une manière efficace, en privillégiant des priorités ainsi que faisant un pause dans la journée. De plus, ils proposent également les autres solutions telles que se concentrer principalement sur le travail le matin et se reposer en fin de journée, avoir une relation extérieure de l'entreprise, faire des loisirs, etc. Tout cela non seulement aide aux salariés à être autonome et moins stressé mais aussi aide aux entreprises à favoriser sa performance.
Pourtant, du fait de la généralisation des technologies, les employés ont de moins en moins de temps libre. C'est pourquoi, un "droit à la déconnexion" a été prise en compte afin de résoudre ce problème, ce qui suscite l'ouverture de négociations sur la qualité de vie au travail en 2017. Cependant, il n'y a pas d'obligation d'aboutir par manque de sanction prévue.
Enfin, on remarque précisément que les pouvoirs publics prennent des mesures nécessaires afin de protéger la santé des salariés. Par exemple, La Cour de Cassation demande aux employeurs de mettre en oeuvres des solutions approprées dans les entreprises pour soutenir les travailleurs et d'être responsable au cas où ils souffriraient des troubles psychologiques. De plus, les employés sont encouragés de se manifester son désaccord pour protéger leurs intérêts pertinents.

Contemporary Inventions
Inventions are the most valuable things in the world. If it weren't for one, we would still be living in the Stone Age. I respect scientists and explorers who have tried different applications. We should appreciate the little and the little thing because thanks to them we now have a comfortable life. Now nobody can imagine life without the Internet, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, TV or even a telephone. I always wonder what the future holds for us. Will we have, for example, flying cars, as in the case of airplanes? Are there unnecessary inventions? Yes, life-threatening inventions like bombs, weapons and chemicals. I think that the best invention is a telescope because it allows us to see different planets, the planetarium, etc. Another good invention is, of course, technology. It fascinates me that the computer used to be so huge, now can create a new SIM card the size of a finger.

Pourquoi je veux habite en France
C'est ma seconde entrée sur cette site. Corrige-moi alors Je peux apprendre S'il te plaît. Je pense à habiter en France. J'habite au milieu du États-Unis. Il n'y a rien à faire quand tu es coincé dans ta maison car du coronavirus. Ca me fait penser sur quoi Je veux faire avec ma vie. Et je veux être heureux dans la vie . Personne ne veut vivre mal. J'apprenais le français déjà alors et habiter en France était déjà dans ma tête. Alors j'ai recherché la France et C'est un très pays jolie. ca ne fait pas un homme intelligent que les États-Unis ne sont pas un bon pay d'habite maintenant. Où j'habite les drogues a repris ma ville. Et Il n'est pas amusant voir une grande ville mort plus vite. Et la France n'est pas parfaite, mais d'après ma recherche, La France fait une place bonne d'habite. Alors j'essaie saveur l'economies habitez à Marseille ou Lyon.

Unique talents

We should support anyone with a talent. We should be supportive and empathetic towards people. We can also develop however we want. For example, if we have a singing talent, we can grow with other groups of people or take courses where we meet other people as well.
Talent is innate and comes with time. When I was little, I discovered a talent for writing. Now I like to write short stories, various texts and fairy tales. It relaxes me. I want to develop this talent as long as possible. Such things must be appreciated. I think that in the future I will discover other dormant talents. I wonder if I can go back to drawing. I used to dislike my style, but now I think everyone has their own unique style. Maybe it will work? Who knows. My strong point is also good correction of the Polish language. I think this is a unique talent, because not everyone can remember where to put a comma or know how to write a word. Every talent is worth cultivating.

The key to Effective Learning

This picture shows different ways to learn. The tree is associated with a mind map. I have always made a mind map in geography. A very useful method of learning, but it will not work in every field. I think this method is too time consuming. In my opinion the most effective method of learning is playing associations. I am a visual learner, so I remember best with photos, colors and pictures. However, I haven't figured out how best to learn yet. I tried writing and speaking aloud once, but that didn't work for me either. I think the associations are the best. In order to learn well, posture and a comfortable place, such as an armchair or bed, are important. Good concentration and order are also important.

Bahnhof verstehen
Ich habe vor ein paar Tagen erfahren wo die Redewendung "ich verstehe nur Bahnhof" entstehen. Laut manche Leute, der Satz stammt von Erster Weltkrieg Soldaten die, wenn den Zug zurück nach Hause nahmen, waren erschöpft und wollten gar nichts über der Krieg sprechen. Zu der Neugierigen dann würden sie antworten: "Ich verstehe nur Bahnhof".

关于我写的短篇小说
最近我写着自己想出来的故事《琴棋书画的宇宙》。这不是我的第一篇短篇小说，我以前已经写完了一篇别的短篇小说（差不多一万字）。开始写那篇小说的时候，我还没学完HSK4所有的内容。那时候，我的汉语老师帮我修改它，而我们一起花了很长时间纠正每一个错误。这篇故事写完时，我已经学到HSK5水平的一半。
到现在，除了《琴棋书画的宇宙》，我还写了另外两篇不完成的短篇故事。跟很多人一样，我患上抑郁症，所以我的第二篇短篇小说里的女主角也患上抑郁症。我原来打算让女主角的自杀成为小说里的高潮，一个情节转折点。我的老师却事先意识到了女主角最终会做什么，所以她指导我不让女主角自杀。她劝我找个办法写幸福的结局，可是我的故事不是那样，所以我没写完。有时候，人的生活没那么幸福。就这样，我半途而废地抛弃这篇短篇小说。
我的第三篇短篇小说关于一个男中学生，他发现自己有一种异常的技巧：他可以预测到几秒钟后的未来。这篇故事还没写完，可是我现在还没有抛弃它。也许有一天我可以再发达他的故事。
老实说，写故事比写日记很难。我需要花更多时间，可能到两个小时，免得情节内的矛盾且保持一致性。对于现在写的《琴棋书画的宇宙》，我已经感觉有点不满意，可是目前我会继续下去。

A Laundromat
Nowadays, the weather hasn't been good so I often go to a laundromat to dry my clothes. I like the laundromat because it is a good place for reading. I have to wait for twenty to thirty minutes while my clothes dried, and the time is good enough for reading a bunch of pages. Besides, the sounds of washing machines are just like white noise. The only downside is it's bothering to bring wet and heavy clothes.

日本語を勉強してる理由
こんにちは。ケンダルです。人々によく聞かれた質問は「なぜ日本語を勉強してるの？」です。その理由を言いたいと。
子供の頃に僕の好きな番組はデジモンアドベンチャー（英語版のタイトル: Digimon: Digital Monsters) とパワーレンジャー（ローカライズ版スーパー戦隊）でした。
好きなゲームシステムはプレーステーション、スーパーファミコン（アメリカにはSuper Nintendoって呼ばれました）そしてNintendo 64でした。
あの時に日本から来たのを全然知らなかったです。 もっと大きくなった時にあのことを初めて知りました。
中学生の頃にスーパー戦隊を初めて知った時に「恐竜戦隊ジュウレンジャー」をYoutubeでクリップを見ました。ま マイティ・モーフィン・パワーレンジャーと違いはすごくびっくりしました。特にイエローは原作で女性じゃなく男性のこと。
あの時もプロレスがすごく好きでした。WWF/WWE, TNA（現インパクト・レスリング） を見て日本人のプロレスラー達に紹介されてくれました。TAKAみちのく、TAJIRI、そして獣神サンダー・ライガー,ライガーさんはすごくかっこよかったです。そして好きなプロレスゲームはWCW vs nWo World Tour, WCW/nWo Revenge, WWF WrestleMania 2000, そしてWWF No Mercyは日本の「バーチャルプロレスリング」のエンジンを使ったって気づいました。
高校4年の前の夏休みに戦隊の作品を全部見てみようなと思いました。あれは「侍戦隊シンケンジャー」でした。その後に日本語を勉強しようかなと初めて考えました。その後、YouTubeで仮面ライダーを発見しました。あの時はオーズが放送中けど、僕の最初のライダーはローカライズ版龍騎でした。笑。そして原作を見てフォンになりました。
その後、英語版ドラゴンボールZを見た後に日本語版を見ようかなと思いました。見て決ました。言葉だけじゃなく文をもっと詳しく知りたいでした。
高校生の頃にクラシック・ロックとクラシック・メタルがすごく好きでした。好きなバンドはMETALLICA、MEGADETH、ヴァン・ヘイレン、エアロスミス、ガンズ・アンド・ローゼズでした。勉強中に日本のロックとメタルを調べて、X JAPANを発見しました。紅とJOKERを聞いていい曲だと思いました、SILENT JEALOUSYを聞いた後にハマってました。そしてもっとバンドを調べました。LUNA SEA、L'Arc~en~Ciel、ANTHEM、LOUDNESSなど。
人生を振り返って日本語を勉強するのはやっぱり運命でしたね。

A toy I liked in my childhood
What I loved more than anything else was my Barbie doll. I was captivated by it. I think every girl had a period in their childhood that they wouldn’t let go of their favourite doll. So did I. If my memory severs me good, my doll had a lovely complexion, oval face, upturned nose and hazel eye. She also had a slim figure, a slender waist and sleek shoulder-length hair in ginger color. I used to keep her immaculately groomed. I used to tailor clothes and build house for her. I also played make-up games with my big sister since she also had a doll. We put them together and make up some stories. I was obsessed with this pretend game. Most of all, I think it was a good way to relax after school to find peace and it was also a good way to strengthen the family bond between me and my big sister who is still one of my best friends now.

Vivir sin móvil
En mi vida adulta he passado una vez por la experiencia de vivir sin móvil y fue un tiempo muy interesante. Fue hace 7 años, cuando vivía en Turquia. Las tarjetas SIM no funcionaban con móviles extranjeros y llegé a la conclusión de que en realidad no necesitaba un móvil. Cuando quería quedar con mis amigos, mi forma de conectar con ellos era través de Facebook o email. Quedábamos un o dos días antes y creo que solo una vez un amigo no llegó. Una o dos veces mi encuentro era con un amigo de una ciudad diferente, que no conocía mi ciudad y que también no tenía un móvil! Y de alguna manera siempre encontrábamos un al otro! También tenía un acuerdo con mis amigos: esperaba 30 minutos, si el amigo no llegaba, volvía a casa. Siempre tuve conmigo un libro, por eso mismo esperando nunca he sentido que estaba perdiendo mi tiempo.
También no usaba un móvil cuando hacía viajes de 600 km haciendo autoestop para lo ver a mi novio. Cuando estaba llegando, le pidía a un conductor para poder usar su móvil.
Hoy en día eso parece inconcebible. Un móvil es tan útil para ver el horario del autobús, responder a una mensaje de Whatsapp, comunicar con mis chefes - son cosas pequeñas, pero no las puedo hacer través email. La única cosa que no quería es tener internet móvil, porque eso sería una exajeración, estaría online durante demasiado tiempo haciendo cosas estúpidas.
Creo que en un día en que trabajo uso el móvel durante unas 4 horas por día. En un día libre suelen ser ~10 horas. Parece mucho, pero lo uso mucho para estudiar idiomas y así el móvel se torna mi libro, mi diccionario, mi cuaderno. Pero no paso mucho tiempo mirando las redes sociales y no juego. Una vez por semana, el sábado, apago mi móvel. Estoy muy grata por ese día, cuando mi chefe no me puede hablar de trabajo o no paso demasiado tiempo mirando las fotos en Instagram.

早上９点我有个面试，在面试最后的５分钟，面试者说“我对你的简历没有问题。“ 我认为我会通过而且估计我能拿到第二个面试的机会。
上午11点我把浴室洗得干干净净。 （可不可以说：“把浴室洗得干干净净的？”）
晚上我给家人做意大利面吃，他们说西红柿酱有点酸酸的。
吃饭和把客厅收拾完以后，我上楼继续学习。我先把越南话的视频课／网线课学完，然后考完了那个单元的小测试。我应该多多练我的越南听力。
我开始读《百家姓》这是一本关于中国的最常见的姓。第一个姓名是赵。虽然赵是本书的第一个姓，但它只能排到中国的第七大姓。中国的宋代的第一个皇帝的姓是赵。
最后我在Youtube上，又碰到了我以前挺喜欢的歌曲：《粉红色的回忆》。原唱：韩宝仪，但我听的版本是张杰唱的。他在芒果TV音乐频道的 《我想和你唱３》的台上与一位选手一起唱歌。
我打算明天修改我的语言目标。
