I have written a few texts in this platform, and received different corrections and comments from different people. And I also read some Chinese texts of them. The texts are all wonderful. The authors' Chinese are higher than some of my friends'. But there still be some problems of the texts. Sometimes I can't find what the mistake is immediately. Sometimes I can find the mistake but I can't figure out the proper word to correct it. The words or exactly the way of description they use are so different from my own or my friends, or even most of the Chinese. So I have to consider deeply.
It is an interesting experience. It provides a different angle for me to think. And it also reminds me of improving my Chinese.
Thanks for the platform. Thanks all the joiners.

My hometown is a small city nearby Andong, which is one of the most famous traditional city in Korea.
Except central part of the city, all other areas are surrounded by farm fields of rice, apples and so on.
I lived there until high school and many friends still live there.
I usually meet them when I visit my hometown.
I visit three times a year for my parents' birthdays and the anniversary of my grand father's death.
My hometown always makes me reminisce about my past.
Old elementary school, playground and small stream remind my good old days.
I really love my hometown.

I totally disagree with this premise.
I can understand why people feel disconnected from the news, although I don't think it is caused by the content but by the form.
Nowadays, the news have become extremely sensationalist and biased. I don't believe in absolute neutrality, but most newspapers and news programmes don't openly recognise their biases, so they present the news as if it was objective reality. A good example of this would be the use of certain kinds of lenses to make people look closer in the street than they really are. A few months ago, the news programmes in my country were using it to exacerbate the idea that people weren't following enough covid protocols, even if it wasn't true and people respected social distance.
Taking this into account, I believe is important to stay connected with what happens around us, but we must read and watch different kind of newspapers and news programmes. It is difficult to find newspapers that we consider honest and reliable, but there are some independent media groups that try to provide verified and trustworthy information. All media will have biases, therefore we need to check as many sources as we can in order to get a complete idea about what is happening around the world.

July 3rd, a huge landslide happened in Atami city because of heavy rain. It destroyed 130 buildings, and, currently, 80 people are still unaccounted for and three people were dead. I saw the video that the landslide swallowed houses on news; it was overwhelming and horrible. Some people say the landslide was caused because of solar panels placed in mountains near the city. Trees were cut down to establish the solar power plant, and mountains lost the function to store water. I feel disasters have recently happened many times due to heavy rain. I guess global warming and climate change are one part of the reasons.

Próximo país estrangeiro é Vietname.
Eu vistei Vietname há 14 anos.
Viajaremos Cidade Ho Chih Minh.
No início, o viagem foi atrasado porque o tufão.
A minha familia vistaremos muitos templos e igrejas.
Além disso, as comidas vietnamitas têm muitos legumes.

I'm preparing the IELTS exam. This is my topic, I want some advise. Thank you.
The task:
In some cultures, children are often told that they can achieve anything if they try hard enough.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of giving children this message?
My topic:
Some children maybe always hear the saying: if you work hard enough, you can get whatever you want. As a coin has two faces, the saying also has advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages are these. Firstly, it can encourage children to become hard-working. Nowadays, Chinese families have less children than before. So their kids are treasure like diamonds. Their parents or grandparents always do many things for them which they should do them by themselves. Secondly, it will help them know that 'no pay no gain'. When I was a kid, I learned riding a bike. I fell so many times and got my leg hurt badly. Finally, I succeed.
The bad influence is following like these. On one hand, not all hard work will get paid, especially when the direction is wrong. There is a Japanese writer said: direction is more important than hard work. For example, if you want to go to east, but you go towards west. You can hardly arrive at your destination in time. On the other hand, there are something just can't exchange equilly, like emotion. Sometimes, emotion is irritional, no matter how hard you try, you can't just reach it. So, if the children believe the saying, someone will get hurt.
In the conclusion, there are not only advantage but also disadvantages of the thought. People shouldn't teach children that if they try hard they can get everything.

I haven't written in a long time, but as I'd like to improve my writing skills, I'm going to tell you a bit about my day.
I woke up at eight o'clock as usual, had breakfast and studied for about three hours, which luckily was all the time I needed to study what I intended to and revise what I'd studied the previous days. I usually study way more, or at least I spend hours doing assignments. However, I've been feeling a lot of eye strain lately, so I thought I'd call it a day.
I had lunch with my family while we saw Luca, a Disney movie which almost made me cry. I enjoyed it a lot and had a good laugh. Later in the afternoon, I went to the supermarket with my little brother to buy some chocolate chips to make cookies. I love making cookies and chocolate chip cookies are my absolute favorite ones. I also watched Friends: The Reunion while having tea, so I naturally had a lot of fun.
I never take such long breaks from studying because I consider it a priority and I also like getting good grades, but I enjoyed the long break I took today.
