I want to speak like a native speaker!! Seriously!!๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Would you please help me by correcting anything that's wrong or sounds unnatural in these sentences?
You can change whatever you want!
It's alright if you change an entire sentence!!
I'd like to learn some common phrases and slang! ๐Ÿ™
Also, I'd like to hear your advice on how to have conversations with English speakers.
I'm looking forward to your constructive criticism.โœ๏ธ

A: I had McDonald's for lunch on the 20th.
B: What did you eat?
A: Double cheeseburger, nuggets and an aaple pie. That's the most popular item in Japan!
What is the most popular menu in the U.S.?

A: On the evening of the 20th, I had "Shouga-yaki, "Takikomi-gohan, and chicken soup with egg and chive.
B: What's "Shoga-yaki"?
A: It's a meal in which pork is fried in soy sauce with ginger. Ginger is "shouga". "Yaki" is "fried"
B: Oh, I see. Sounds delicious!
What about "takikomi gohan"?
A: Rice cooked with chicken, burdock, carrots, shiitake, and other stuff. In water seasoned with soy sauce. The ingredients used vary from household and region.
B: That sounds delicious too!

A: On the morning of the 21st, I had leftover rice from yesterday, skipped lunch, and had sashimi and fried chicken for dinner.
B: What kind of sashimi?
A: Tuna
B: O-toro?
A: No, Akami.
B: Which tastes better, otoro or akami?
A: Depends on the person
O-toro is tasty, but too much fat makes my stomach upset and makes me feel nauseous.lol
What kind of sashimi do you like?

A: On the 26th, I had a fried egg over rice for breakfast, skipped lunch, and had "suiton" for dinner.
B: What is "suiton"?
A: It is a stewed dish. First you make dumplings out of wheat flour, then you add vegetables, meat, and other ingredients to a soup made with miso and soy sauce.
B: Is it good?
A: It's delicious!
It's so easy to make, I'll make it for you some time!
B: That's a great idea!
I'll make something to bring with me then!
A: It'll be a party! Sounds like fun!

A: On the 27th, I had leftover "suiton" and sugar toast for breakfast, skipped lunch, and had mackerel for dinner at 6:00 pm, earlier than usual.
B: How did you make the sugar toast?
A: I just sprinkled sugar on the bread. lol
B: Oh, sounds simple and delicious.
How did you eat the mackerel?
A: I grilled it.
It was fatty and delicious.

B: What did you have for lunch yesterday?
A: Pancakes!
B: Ohh, did you put a lot of maple syrup on them?
A: Of course! It wouldn't be pancakes if I didn't put a lot of maple syrup on them!
B: Indeed! Did you put any toppings on it?
A: Yes, just butter. I really like cream, but I forgot to buy it.
B: What about fruit?
A: None. It was a little expensive.
B: Well, but simple is good, right?
A: It's a little lackluster, though.
B: On the next occasion, huh. What about dinner?
A: Lemon-salt-sauce ribs bento and pork shabu-shabu salad at the convenience store.
B: Shabu shabu?
A: Thin slices of pork that has been boiled.
B: Great! Looks refreshing!
A: What did you eat?

A: For breakfast on the 28th, I had yesterday's leftover turnips with a sauce made of vinegar and miso, and I also had a meat and Veggie stir fry and a burrito I bought at a convenience store.
B: What seasoning did you use for the stir fry?ใ€€
A: Salt and pepper for the stir-fry.
B: That's perfect for the morning.
A: Yeah, simple is the best!
B: Good! What about lunch?
A: Korean instant ramen called "shin ramen" with steamed chicken!
B: Oh, I love "shin ramen"!
A: Yeah? It's delicious, right?
B: For sho!
What about dinner?
A: Ready-to-eat hamburger steak from the supermarket, sausage and cabbage!
B: Ready-to-eat meals are the best when you're busy, right?
A: Yeah, I thank the person who invented them every day.
B: Yeah, definitely. What about on the 29th?
A: I skipped breakfast on the 29th, had dried shoyu ramen for lunch, and had miso soup, teriyaki pork, tofu and aojiru for dinner.
B: How was it?
A: Well, the teriyaki tasted a little strong, but everything else was good, it's not that the teriyaki was bad, but it made me thirstier than usual.

B: Did you add more crushed tomatoes to the arrabbiata?
A: Yes! To add more sauce.
B: I see. It tastes better with more sauce.
A: Exactly!
B: And at night?
A: Pre-packaged curry and canned mackerel into it.
B: You really like to put into it, right? Is it good?
A: Well, I wouldn't recommend it to others. But if I put mackerel in it, it's healtheir. Also easy to cook, and it doesn't taste bad, so I eat it. But it's not very tasty.

B: What did you have for dinner?
A: Hoi kou rou.
B: What's that?
A: I don't know how I could say it in English. It's a Sichuan dish of stir-fried pork, cabbage, green onions, and so on seasoned with chinese Chili Bean Sauce and sweet flour sauce. Well, but in my case, I would buy the sauce for it.
B: Oh, maybe twice-cooked pork. But never eat of it. Is it good?
A: Yes. It's good. It goes well with rice. What did you have?

Dream Destination

If I could, I'd like to see the northern lights in Norway or Alaska or something. The problem is I'm very sensitive to snow and very low temperatures. It would be a sight to behold though. The aurora videos alone make them seem like magic so I can't imagine what it would be like to seem them in real life.

A: I had leftover miso soup from last night's dinner, so I ate it with rice.

A: Nuggets at McDonald's. They were on sale for 390 yen for 15 pieces. I also had red leaf lettuce and bacon with miso and vinegar sauce.
B: Nice! How much is a regular nugget in Japan?
A: 580 yen for 15 pieces.
B: Not too different.

B: You often skip lunch.

B: Why don't you just buy it on your way to work in the morning and eat it at lunch while on your phone?
A: You're right. But I'm so busy in the morning that I don't have time to buy anything. All I just have to do is go to bed early, get up early, and leave the house 10 minutes earlier though.
B: Yeah, you're right. It's a test of your ability to cope by god.

A: Leftover curry from yesterday.

A: Yes! In Japan, they say that the next day's curry tastes better than the day you made it.
B: Why?
A: I'm not sure. Maybe like the umami?
B: I see. What about lunch?
A: Red leaf lettuce and bacon. This is also leftover from yesterday. I wrapped bacon in red leaf lettuce and had it with vinegar and miso sauce.
B: Oh, nice! It's healthy! And for dinner?
A: Grilled pork belly with garlic and soy sauce.
B: Oh, garlic is the best, right? There's no dish it doesn't go well with, right?

B: What did you eat this morning?
A: Just rice with yukari furikake.
B: Yukari?
A: Yukari is a kind of Japanese furikake that rice seasoning thing that is made from red shiso leaves. It has a sour-salty delicious flavor and is often eaten with rice and onigiri.
B: Oh, I see.
A: You don't have it in your country?
B: Yeah, I've never heard of it.
A: I see.
B: What did you have for lunch?
A: I didn't eat anything.
B: Omg, aren't you hungry? Are you on a diet?
A: No, I'm not. It was just a hassle.
B: You find it a pain in the neck to eat?
A: Yeah. Eating and going out to buy food. Do you ever have days like that?
B: No. I like eating. And you should eat three meals at the same time. Rhythm of life is important for your health.
A: Yeah, you're right. But I heard that sometimes it's healthier to eat two meals a day. The process of digestion in the stomach and absorption in the intestines requires a certain amount of time. Eating fewer meals increases the amount of hunger time when the stomach is completely empty, which is the resting time for the gastrointestinal tract. Some people say that by eating less often, they are less likely to feel sleepy after eating, and they feel clearer-headed, lighter, and so on.
B: Right. And it used to be normal to have two meals a day in the old days.
A: Yeah, true. So I guess there must be an appropriate number of meals for each person.
B: Good point. What about at night then?
A: Three flavors of fried chicken: soy sauce, garlic, and red pickled ginger.
B: Did you make that yourself?
A: Nah, I went to buy.
B: Wasn't that a hassle?
A: Yeah. I had an irresistible craving for fried chicken.
B: I see. What's red pickled ginger flavor?
A: Literally. Red pickled ginger flavor.
B: Oh, is it good?
A: Yeah, I like it. It's salty and not too heavy so good for summer. Do you like pickled something?
B: Yes.
A: Then I think you'll like it.
B: Oh, that's good. I'll give it a try when I get to Japan.
A: Nice. Tell me what you ate.

A: Just wasabi-flavored furikake on rice.
B: Easy meal.
A: Yeah, in the morning, easy dish hit the spot!
B: But you should eat something nutritious in the morning too. For the future.
A: Yeah. True.
B: What about lunch?
A: No lunch.
B: Again. I bet the girls would love to have that constitution of yours. The kind of nature where you don't have to eat.
A: Yeah, right. There are days when I don't eat for a whole day, but it's not hard at all.
B: The whole day? Why didn't you eat?
A: I didn't think I needed to. I felt like I didn't need to force myself to eat.
B: Were you hungry that day?
A: Yeah, that day. Usually I get hungry. But that day I was fine.
B: That's terrible. You might be the best survivor on a deserted island.
A: Maybe. I'd just hide in there and not eat anything.
B: LOL. What about for dinner?
A: Curry, and on the way home I bought a roll cake with salt in it, castella, and a fruit sandwich.
B: You bought a lot of desserts. Were you craving something sweet?
A: Yes. When I saw them in the showcase, I wanted to eat them, so I bought some.
B: Did you eat all of them?
A: No, I couldn't. I got sick halfway through and saved it for breakfast the next day.
B: That's a good decision. Did you make the curry yourself?
A: Nah. From a convenience store, lol.

A: Yeah, it's like eating naan with curry.
B: Yeah. What did you have for lunch?
A: I made and ate "่‚‰ใพใ‚“".
B: What's a "่‚‰ใพใ‚“"?
A: A pork bun
B: Oh, OK.
How did you make it?
A: I made the dough with a pankcake-mix, then I make a filling with pork and chives or something, put it inside, and steam it in a pan. That's all.
B: How did it turn out?
A: Well, I made the dough too thick and it became hard. But the taste was ok. I used pankcake-mix to make the crust, so it's a little sweet, so maybe kids'll like it better.
B: You like to cook?
A: Well, not really. lol
But sometimes I feel like cooking.
B: I kind of feel you, there are days that cooking is a good stress reliever.
A: Yeah, but it's hard to do it every day
B: That's why mothers are great!
A: Nowadays, there are more and more single fathers and househusbands and men who do housework, so a person who cooks every day is great.
B: Yeah, certainly.
What did you have for dinner?
A: I got dinner from a Japanese bento place called Hotto Motto.
B: What's bento?
A: Japanese lunch box.
B: Oh, OK! What kind of bento?
A: I think it was "Oyako-don".
B: What's that?
A: Chicken and egg over rice.
B: What does "oyako" mean?
A: It meas parents and children. The chicken is the parent and the egg is the child, that's why it's called "Oyako-don".
B: That sounds a bit cruel. lol
A: Yeah, I guess so, now that I think about it. We should really be grateful for the ingredients.
B: Yeah, you're right.
What did you eat for breakfast?
A: Granola.
B: Oh, there are a lot of people in the U.S. who eat granola. But American ones tend to be sweet.
A: I see. I think Japanese granola is moderately sweet. The sweetness of the fruit stands out.
B: I wanna try some Japanese ones.
A: I wanna try some American ones too.
B: Do you want to send it to each other?
Just for granola. haha
A: I wish there aren't shipping fee. lol
But I can send it if you really want to. lol
B: I think it's not necessary, that's a bit much. lol
A: OK. haha
B: What did you have for lunch?
A: I put chicken and beaten egg into "Shin ramen" and ate it.
B: Great, sounds delicious!
What did you have for dinner?
A: Yakitori.
B: What's "yakitori"?
A: "Yakitori" is a Japanese specialty where various parts of the chicken are skewered and charbroiled by the chef. They are usually served simply with only salt or dipped into teriyaki like sauces.
B: Ah, "Yakitori"!
It is also called "chicken skewers" or "chicken kebab" in other countries.
A: Oh, I didn't know that.
I'd like to try some "yakitori" from overseas.
How much does it cost?

Summer has arrived

When the sunlight begins to feel too hot, when I can't spend a minute outside without wiping sweat or fanning my face, when sneakers become too uncomfortable to wear, I know summer has arrived.

B: Do you remember what you ate for breakfast the day before yesterday?
A: Uh, what was it? It's on the tip of my tongue, wha-cha-ma-call-it? Let's see... Oh, yes! I remember! Ochazuke!
B: Oh, I see!
So, what's "ochazuke"?
A: "Ochazuke" is a traditional rice soup made with rice and green tea.
But in my case, or in most people's cases, ochazuke is made with ochazuke powder, which you dissolve in hot water before eating.
B: Is it good?
A: A: It's delicious. You can add any toppings you like, and most importantly, it's easy and cheap, only takes 5 minutes to cook, and the whole thing probably costs less than 100 yen, depending on the toppings.
B: What toppings did you have the day before yesterday?
A: I put "ๆตท่‹”" and "ๅฑฑ่‘ต".
B: What are "ๆตท่‹”" and "ๅฑฑ่‘ต"?
A: Dried seaweed and Japanese horseradish.
B: Oh, nori and wasabi! Okay, okay!
A: Have you ever had it?
B: Yes! At a Japanese restaurant in America!
A: How was it?
B: Well, it was good! But Is there a difference between good and bad quality nori and wasabi?
A: Well, for nori, it doesn't taste much different, but good wasabi tastes so much better when you eat it alone with rice!
B: Isn't it spicy?
A: It's spicy, but it's deliciously spicy!
B: Wow! I wanna try.
A: Well, I think there is a difference between high quality and normal nori, but I don't really want to pay extra money for it.
B: I see. What did you eat for lunch?
A: I skipped lunch and had tofu, chicken, and aojiru (green juice) at night!
B: Oh, green juice! That's healthy!
A: Right? I don't know if it works or not, but it's better than not drinking it, right?
B: Probably. lol
What did you eat yesterday?
A: Chazuke again, hot dog, and an egg sandwich. I ate a lot in the morning, so I didn't eat lunch, and at night I had frozen gyoza and shu-mai.
B: What kind of shu-mai?
A: Shrimp shu-mai.
B: Oh, shrimp... I don't like them. Lol
A: Really? Ah, come to think of it, they look like insects. lol
B: Yeah, it's kind of gross.
A: I feel I understand. lol
I love shrimp though.
I could eat just that for the rest of my life.
B: No way. There's no way you can!
A: Just a thought, though I'd probably give up after 4 days.lol
B: Yeah, obviously.

B: What did you have for dinner?
A: I ate oden today.
B: What's that?ใ€€
A: Well, it's a kind of Japanese stew or nabe. It is a soup stock made from dried bonito flakes and kelp, flavored with soy sauce and other seasonings, and then simmered for a long time with various ingredients called tane. Ingredients include fried satsuma-age, hanpen, grilled chikuwa, tsumire, konnyaku, daikon radish, sweet potato, beef tendon, boiled egg, thick fried bean curd, and many others. I love this dish! I suggest you eat it when you come to Japan!
B: Yeah, I will!
What did you eat last night?
A: I got some potatoes from a senior at the place where I work, so I steamed them in the microwave and ate them!
B: Nice! Did you put butter on them?
A: Of course! Butter is a must. I also had stir-fried vegetables.
B: What vegetables?
A: Peppers, carrots, onions, cabbage!
B: Great! Health-conscious!
A: Well, yes!
B: But the nutritionist said that vegetables should be boiled so that the nutrients don't escape.
A: Yeah. But I'm childish taste. So I like they are well seasoned. Do you like the taste of vegetables as they are?

B: What did you have for lunch yesterday?
A: Pasta with meat sauce from the convenience store!ใ€€
B: You really like convenience stores, right?
A: Yeah, it's easy.
B: But it's not very healthy!
A: Yeah, so I crushed up some tomatoes I had in the fridge to bulk up the meat sauce and make it healthier.
B: That sounds like a good idea.
A: Yeah. It tastes better with a lot of sauce.
B: Indeed. What about at night?
A: I ate dumplings.
My friend's family from junior high school runs a dumpling store, so I bought some dumplings there before and froze them and kept them.
B: Is it good?
A: They are delicious. Especially the sui-gyoza are delicious.
B: the sui-gyoza?
A: Umm, boiled dumplings.
B: Oh, I see.
A: Have you ever eaten it?

B: Do you have any recommendations for Japanese dramas?
A: Let's see, there's an interesting one called "Legal High".
B: What kind of drama?
A: Like, a courtroom drama with a comedic touch. The main character is usually a jerk, but sometimes he says heavy words. It's good, too.
B: I see. I'll watch it!
A: Yeah! Lemme know if you watch it!
B: Sure!
A: On the other hand, do you have any drama recommendations?

I just watched "JAILBIRDS" and "GIRLS INCARCERATED" on Netflix.
They really made me think.
I guess people arenโ€™t bad from birth.
I think they do bad things because of their surroundings.
And I learned that relationships are much more important in American prisons than they are in Japanese prisons. It was like a school full of bad guys.
But the prisons I've seen in other documentaries were more extreme, so it made me wonder if these were just nicer prisons, or if the programs mostly showed the good side of prisons, or if the documentaries themselves were fake.
The mystery only deepens...

B: What's it about?
A: Jailbird" is about the daily life of a female inmate in the Sacramento County Jail, and "Girls Incarcerated" is about girls in an Indiana juvenile correctional facility.
