A Little Thing

I want to share a little thing I encountered last night.

It was on my way home from a six-hour hike and a three-hour bus -- between the hike and bus, my friends and I had waited for several trail-missing club members for 1.5 hours, so it was much later than usual.

When I got off the bus, I was pretty exhausted. Just a few minutes after I said goodbye to my friend, I noticed a group of foreigners gathering around a phone, and they seemed to be having some trouble, so I came up to offer help.

They were a big family traveling in Shanghai and trying to find a restaurant. Since it was quite late, the restaurants in the shopping malls were closed. I led them to a restaurant nearby, where I ordered delivery several times.

I was so tired that I couldn't remember their hometown or other things they told me, but I'm happy that I was able to help.

Diary

Today my film and batteries arrived, and I took my first photo on film. I'm so excited!

And it also rained today. I had McDonald's in the evening, and I think McDonald's Sprite is very tasty.

Was auf meinem Schreibtisch steht

Chaque pays a plusieurs accents.

A: "Ah, okey.

Driving test

I have a driving test next Friday. To prepare for it, I did a lot of practices over the last two months. It took much time for me to decide to get my driver's license--I become anxious on the road easily because I've been in a road accident when I was a child. Luckily, I've been feeling more relaxed recently, thanks to practice. My driving instructor also said I have a good chance of passing my driving test on the first try.
I hope everything goes smoothly on Friday.

Murakami-sama Kourin(村神様降臨)

“Murakami the God has been summoned.”
The White Sox newcomer from Japan has been surprising MLB experts, and some scouts from other teams now regret misjudging his ability and failing to acquire him. With today’s two home runs against the Cubs, he has surged past Aaron Judge of New York Yankees and taken over the home‑run lead across both leagues.
“Murakami-sama Kourin” (“Murakami the God has been summoned”) is a meme often used by Japanese media to describe Murakami’s incredible performances, especially when he hits a huge home run. The suffix -sama is a very respectful way of addressing someone in Japanese, originally used for gods or people of very high status. In this meme, it gives Murakami a god‑like status. His nickname comes from combining his name Murakami with the word kami, which means “god” in Japanese. Kourin refers to a god appearing or descending as if responding to people’s prayers.
Watching MLB has become a great pastime for me thanks to Shohei Ohtani’s amazing two-way play and Murakami’s potential to become this season’s home run king.

Cast Away

"Cast Away" is an adventure film from the United States.
The story took place in 1995 and was starred by Tom Hanks.
The plane crashed unexpectedly in the South Pacific, and he was left on a deserted island for over 1,500 days.
Everyone thought he died in the air crash, but in fact he survived.
There was no lighter, no mobile phone, no electricity, and no Bible.
There were snakes, wild animals, and mosquitoes.
He lived on the island, relying on a volleyball as his companion.
He named the volleyball Wilson.
There was no anyone else on the island, so he could only talk to Wilson every day.
At least he didn't lose his linguistic ability on a deserted island.
It is very important that everyone should have their own Wilson.
Life on the deserted island was very tough, and he became a modern Robinson.
I really like this film very much.

Cómo Instagram influyó en mi francés

16.05.2026

English literature

In 1990s, British English is widely taught in Asia.
My university major was in English literature, so I love talking about English literature.
My favorite novel is Robinson Crusoe.
I have read Robinson many times.
And repeat the stories in my own words.
Retelling is the best way of learning English.
Friday was very loyal to Robinson.
Friday is not only a partner for Robinson, but also a capable assistant.

David and Goliath

In 1000 BC, there was a long conflict between the Israelites and the Philistines.
Goliath, the strongest warrior of the Philistine army, was at least ‌2.9 meters ‌.
David was just a young shepherd, about 15 years old.
Why did David win over Goliath?
David was weak, but he defeated Goliath by trusting in God.
He eventually became the second king of Israel.

Dutch Culture

The name Netherlands means lowland, a reference to the country's low elevation and flat topography.
The Netherlands is known as a cycling paradise with an extensive network of bike paths.
There are over a thousand different types of Dutch cheese, so be sure to try some cheese.
The windmills are an iconic symbol of the Netherlands.
Although the numbers have been significantly reduced over time, you can still find over one thousand windmills all over the country.
Whether you are exploring the canals of Amsterdam cycling through tulip fields or enjoying the local cuisine, you'll be surprised by how fluently the Dutch speak English.
Why are the Dutch so fluent in English?
In the Dutch education system, English is compulsory.
The main reason is that the media always has subtitles and everything is in English (movies, series and TV shows).
If you watch a James Bond movie in France, it is translated into French.
However, the movies you watch in the Netherlands are in English.
In conclusion, the Netherlands is a country famed for its windmills, bicycles and towering citizens.
