Simplify thinking process

Hello, I hope that I get good approaches in the Reddit thread here. I have been learning English for many years, come from Germany, and am 20 years old. My problem in English is that I have to simplify my thinking pattern. I need to learn to use large chunks of vocabulary in the right context. Often in my native language, as well as English, I tend to add German philosophy writing to my English writing style. What I mean: Emanuel Kant, for example, has written very complex works, which English translates to us as being unreadable, in my opinion. I tend to adopt the same writing style, to present something complicated, just to emit eloquence, so use complicated words to impress and show my English level. That didn’t get me far, so now I want to deconstruct my spelling, and I want to decipher different ways. This means that I just need to read and listen to books, YouTube Channels to make my entire thinking process simpler, and concisely and clear with no redundancy. I want to explain my ideas in writing as well as spoken. I just tend to overthink. Simple points, sophisticated explained and therefore confusingly presented. Finally, one more example. A friend and I were in a project class. Without withholding to rate my friend in English, I would rate him as B2. The teacher gave us back our work, she calls me and says good work, final result 6.5 of 10 points. My friend gets a 7.9 out of 10. I ask the teacher how she justifies this: she says your English uses a more eloquent vocabulary, which sounds good but often makes your writing style look illiterate. On the other hand, your friend (Max) writes very simply and truly, readable for everyone. It is not about whether you can impress with your choice of words, but that your counterpart understands you and can process your information. I hope this makes sense, and you can help me. Heute ist chinesisches Neujahr. Ich habe heute einen Podcast gehört, in dem es um lokale Religionen in China ging, und ich interessiere mich plötzlich für lokale Religionen in China. Ich habe herausgefunden, dass es viele lokale Religionen in meiner Umgebung gibt, und ich hoffe, dass ich sie nach meinem Abschluss vor Ort erkunden kann.

USJ

On July 16th, I went to USJ, which means Universal Studio Japan, with my friends from elementary school. There were entrance regulations at USJ due to COVID-19 at the time, so there was hardly anyone in the park. Maybe there are still now. That's why we could go on attractions without waiting, although we have to usually wait more than 2 hours. We probably went on about 10 rides. I think I don't want to go there when it's doing business as usual because we have to wait. Even though we all were very tired when we went home, it was a wonderful memory.

「日本に紹介したいベトナム文化といえば、私の故郷の「水上マーケット」の文化を紹介したいと思います。これは、カントーの観光の象徴です。ご紹介したい場所は「カイラン水上マーケット」です。朝は早く、４時ごろ、多くの船が集まっています。スイカの売る船や、コーヒーの売る船や、朝ごはんの売る船や、宝くじの売る船もあります。面白いですね。特別なのは、あるとても高いの木の中にいろいろな物をかけてあります。何をかければ、何を売っているという意味です。その木は「ベオ」(bẹo) と言います。例えば、スイカとかマンゴーとかリンゴとかをかけて、その物を売っています。お客様は、船で観光しながら、朝ごはんを食べたり、コーヒーを飲んだり、周りの声を聞くことはすてきな経験です。私にとって、声が大好き。なぜなら、声は故郷の『匂い』があるからです。もし一度行って見たら、静かな川の風景とこのマーケットの活動を見てると、観光者は「楽しいな～」と言ってと思います。現在、「カイラン水上マーケット」はベトナムの無形文化遺産ですから、機会があれば、この文化は日本人に紹介するようにしています。」

Diary: Lunar New Year

Today is the Chinese New Year. Reunion is the main theme of Chinese New Year, usually expressed through having reunion dinners. In order to reunite, it also leads to the world's largest annual migration of people. But not this year, because of COVID-19, our government encouraged us to spend New Year locally. There are also many customs like giving out lucky money, playing firecrackers, etc. Many families also worship several gods, burn paper money, etc, which my Christian classmates did not have.

I listened to a podcast today about local religions and religious spells, and even fighting spells. The government of China officially espouses state atheism, so I know very little about this knowledge. I had only heard of shamanism and the Dalai Lama before. But we are cautioned not to study these local religions casually. I especially appreciate the core view of these religions, about the reconciliation of yin and yang and being in awe of everything. There is one sentence that stands out to me, that if a person lacks part of his ability, he will certainly be more powerful than others on the other hand.

Temperature shifting

Since the motor in our experiment installation was placed close to the vibration sensor (about 5mm) the second one was affected by heat emission coming from the motor while it is operating. Any changes of motor power closely related to the changes of this emission, which leads to the temperature changes of the sensor. According to operating manual a sensor may drift as much as 10 Hz/°C. The shifting of frequency caused by temperature changing and calculated angular velocity therefore can be seen when the motor power is changed. The details of the linear fitting shown in two zoomed insets in Figure1. The boundaries of every 30 seconds interval, represented by green datapoints, are the places where the temperature stabilization occurs after the motor power has been changed. Black dashed lines indicate the exact moments, when the power was changed. Once a thermal stabilization had been reached the velocity shows the linear ricing (black datapoints in insets).

Meine Alltagsbuch : 12. Februar

Heute scheit es und es ist sehr kalt, ich muss einen Mantel tragen. Ich bin frueh aufgestanden, auf 6 Uhr, und bin ich ein bisschen spazieren gegangen. Als Während ich spazieren gehen bin war, lerne ich auf Anki Deutsch.

Ich esse jeden Morgen zum Frühstück etwas Leckeres. Ich habe zwei Eier, zwei vegetarische Wurste, eine Proteinshake and eine Bruschetta gegessen.

Arbeit der Woche

- Von meiner Seite gibt es heute nichts so viel zu berichten...

- Ich habe die Umsetzung der "GIMP"-Tests fertiggemacht und habe da auch ein paar Bugfixes gepusht. Es gibt noch ein paar Details die ich noch mich Martha sprechen will, aber ansonsten ist diese Aufgabe momentan aus meiner Sicht erledigt.

- Heute fange ich an, das "JPEG-Quantisierung"-Experiment auf Python umzusetzen, da geht es um die Folgen in Bezug auf die SNR die -Quantisierung bei dem "KRS"-Projekt haben könnte.

Plain Japanese

Paradise is here for us!

Korean DJs Jeiff and Young Do have joined forces with the Clazziquai’s vocalist Horan for “Paradise," which was released yesterday.

“Paradise” is a dreamy future bass track that boasts impeccable harmony of minor acoustic guitar riffs, subtle pad synths and Horan’s unparalleled vocals.

Jeiff showed his affection for the production on his Instagram yesterday with the caption, “We worked really hard for this song.”

In particular, “Paradise” is creating a buzz among Horan’s fans, as it is her first featured song in eight months since Lazybone’s “Light the turn signal” from last June.

Experimentación con animales

¿Qué opinas de la experimentación con animales? ¿Es necesario o hay alternativos suficientes?

En realidad, nunca había pensado en esta antes de que viera la pregunta en el artículo "400+ Language Exchange Topics". Entonces, como no tenía mucho conocimiento del tema, lo busqué en Wikipedia. Sé que es un recurso terrible para los hechos específicos, pero la mayoría del tiempo te va a dar un sumario suficiente del tema. Aunque aún no sé mucho del tema, voy a intentar responder a la pregunta.

Entiendo por qué a veces es necesario que los usen para la experimentación. Sé que nos ha dado muchas innovaciones científicas. También sé que hay mucha variación entre ellas. Por ejemplo, un experimento en el que prueban las comidas preferidas de un animal no es un problema. Sin embargo, me cuesta acordar con las experimentaciones que terminan con las muertes de sus sujetos. Me parece que hay bastante alternativas. Puede que salven vidas, pero ¿a qué precio? Con los avances en los campos de computadores, es muy posible que no sea alguna razón de hacerlas en el futuro cercano.

Me gustan los animales y tengo una mascota. Así que, tiene prejuicio mi opinión. Sin embargo, puedo entender las razones de que se usan animales en estos experimentos. A pesar de esto, espero con todo mi corazón que elijan las alternativas. La mayoría de los países aceptan que puedan sentir dolor los animales. ¿Si sabemos que tienen una consciencia, incluso si es una conciencia básica, deberíamos continuarlo?

Improve Memory

One of the problems in learning second language (in my case Japanese).

I can’t use that in a regular base.

I didn’t live in Japan and my job doesn’t need to speak or write Japanese…

So, even I’ve learned many Japanese grammar but keep forget.

What I usually do is just reread again.

“Repeat and repeat” but soon will “forget and forget” again.

That is really frustrating.

Yesterday, I suddenly have an idea.

My repeat method is read once and hand write few times.

Next time I will find a drawing which represent the situation and I put the suitable grammar (words) inside the picture.

So that I am not only just memory the words but also in which situations I should use the words.

Hope this improve my memory.

Il faut être un menteur pour survivre aujourd'hui

En général, on préférerions penser que l'honnêteté sera une chose de bon, une vertu pour toujours défendre. Toutefois, je ne connais probablement personne qui ne ment jamais pas - des petits mensonges qu'on dit pour ne blesser pas quelqu'un, par informations un peu fausses qu'on inclue dans nos résumés, au les vrais sommets de malhonnêteté, on tous tombe dans ce spectrum. Il y a même les gens qui mentent autour de s'existence entier - lesquels qui ont passé tant du temps en mentant, que les ne reste pas quelque option que continuer. C'est demi-mal s'ils mentent seul à eux-mêmes, pour essayer d'être capable de se lever tous les matins, malgré tout et en dépit de n'importe quelles circonstances.

Le problème plus important c'est quand ils mentent aux autres qui les entourent, et plus encore si les misérables prendraient leurs paroles pour argent comptant - oú même choisiraient ça faire. Il semble que vivre dans les mensonges ne soit pas le meilleur choix, mais en comparant avec l'alternatif horrifiante - faire face à la vérité qui rien n'est comme on a imaginé, que personne n'est qui on les a considéré, ça peut-être même séduisant nourrir notre fantasie, bien qu'on sache que les choses ne sont pas comment on les voudrait.

Alors, on se mente à nous-mêmes pour voir plus un lever du soleil, plus un jour d'être autant le menteur comme quelqu'un à qui les autres mentent. En entendant les mensonges comme « tout sera bien », « je te redonnerais de l'argent quand je pourrai », ou « un jour je serai de retour près de toi », on peut se poser la question, est-ce que ça sert a quelque chose ?
Ou en restant dans l'illusoire on se sauve des ennuis de la réalité ?

Wu xia pian

Recientemente, vi una película de un genero chino que se llama el wu xia pian. Equivale más o menos al cine occidental de capa y espada. Ese genero cinematográfico, que se remonta al teatro tradicional y volvió famoso gracias a éxitos comerciales mundiales como "Tigre y Dragón" o "La Casa de las dagas voladoras", se caracteriza por su ensenificación de leyendas chinas con figuras heroicas que generalmente llevan la justicia o la venganza en periodas de injusticia.

Luchas impresionantes de artes marciales meticulosamente coregrafiadas y hermosas imagines stereotípicas de la China antigua son las dos características principales del wu xia pian. La gramática cinematográfica de tales filmes se diferencia radicalmente de lo a que estamos acostumbrados en el cine occidental, pues, ver un film de wu xia pian por la primera vez puede representar una experiencia deconcertante, a pesar de que los filmes modernos y comerciales como "Tigre y Dragón" me parecen más similares al cine americano (por ejemplo) que la película que he visto, una producción de Hong-Kong de los años 80 que se llama "The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter" (no conozco el titulo español, si existe)

En este filme, el solo sobrevividor de una familia de guerreros leales al imperador tiene que esconderse y, haciendose monje, decide developar una técnica de lucha con el bastón para buscar (y matar) al traidor que es responsible de la muerte de su padre y hermanos. Aunque esta película obviamente no había beneficiada de recursos importantes, la ensenificación de manera general y las coregrafías de luchas me parecieron muy buenas. El juego de los actores fue fuerte y, de verdad, un poco exagerado, nonostante eso contribuye al humor general de la pelí que, en algunas escenas, no se toma realmente en serio.

Al fin, diría que "The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter" ha sido una descubierta agradable para mí, y seguro me dio ganas de ver otras películas del genero wu xia pian.

Wir brauchen mehr Leute

Ich finde es schade, dass die meisten Beiträge wegen der mangelnden Benutzernummer hier auf LangCorrect keine Korrekturen erhalten können.

Damit will ich nicht einfach sagen, dass die Muttersprachler Schuld daran sind, sondern dass diese Website bisher nicht genug Anmerkungen bekommen hat. Das ist wirklich so ein Pech!

Deswegen wünsche ich mir manchmal, perfekt Deutsch sprechen zu können, um alle Beiträge hier zu korrigieren. Leider kann ich nur weiter lernen und vielleicht einen Tag könnte ich das schaffen.

Wie Gracie in Ungnade fiel

Die Gracie Familie ist legendär in der Geschichte von MMA. Alles begann mit Helio Gracie, der vom Conde Koma, einem Schüler des Gründers des Judo, kämpfen lernte. Helio dann entwickelte seine eigenen Variationen der Techniken, um größere Gegner zu bekämpfen. Er und seine Familie kämpften oft gegen Gegner anderer Kampfkünste, und in den 70er Jahren haben sie den UFC gegründet. Der Name Gracie wurde in allen Meisterschaften sehr gefürchtet. Das änderte sich jedoch 1998 aufgrund eines Mannes namens Kazushi Sakuraba. Während der "Pride" Meisterschaft in Japan besiegte er zuerst Royler Gracie, Helios Sohn, und dann seinen Bruder Rickson Gracie. Seine letzte Herausforderung war gegen Royce Gracie, der UFC-Champion zu der Zeit. Der Kampf dauerte anderthalb Stunden und Sakuraba widerstand vielen Versuchen, im Boden gefangen zu werden. Letztendlich gewann er das Match und verdient den Titel "Der Gracie-Jäger". Royce besiegte Sakuraba 2007 in einem kontroversen Rückkampf aber die Familie war nicht mehr als unbesiegbar bekannt.
