Hi again and thanks! Is が wrong here or is を simply better? I learned that with たい sentences, where を is used, you can use が as well. What do you think?

I think this is a somewhat unnatural question, to begin with.
In English, do you ever ask, "What is it that you don't want to do?"
I believe it sounds unnatural in Japanese.
If you were to ask it, wouldn't it be "Why don't you want to do it?" instead?

I think this is a somewhat unnatural question, to begin with.
In English, do you ever ask, "What is it that you don't want to do?"
I believe it sounds unnatural in Japanese.
If you were to ask it, wouldn't it be "Why don't you want to do it?" instead?
This is a direct sentence from Genki which is why I used it. In English, one can of course ask "what do you not want to do?" but it is rather limiting. Good to know that in Japanese it is limiting as well.

三年後、彼女は日本にいるつもり(住む?)つもり(らしい)です。
Thanks again. To be clear つもり is wrong here or has to be preceded by 住む to be clearer? I intended to say that Mary intends to be in Japan in 3 years. In English this works too - saying that she wants to live there and then saying that she will be there in 3 years time) as I previously stated that she wants to live in Japan so the following sentence "she plans to be there in 3 years" makes sense. Does this not makes sense in Japanese by using 住む in the previous sentence followed by いる in the next?

If I want to use 弾く (to play) however, would 弾く as I used it be correct? In English, the difference is simply one of using "I want to learn piano" vs "I want to learn to play the piano". Both are correct, but I would like to express the latter: "I want to learn to play the piano".
