Who Is This Man

My house is on the ground floor with a basement, a young couple with a 9-year old daughter living on the first floor.
We almost speak to each other every day. I have talked with the daughter's father many times face to face. The location of high school he has studied is adjacent to mine, so I had strong and good impression on him.
But about 3 months ago, I didn't see the man again. Another middle-aged man appeared in my neighbor's house. The housewife said that's her relative, but we don't believe her words gradually, they look like a couple, sometime swing on the swing together happily. The man has lived there for 3 months.
I don't know what's happing to the former husband.

I assume you mean your home consists of two floors, the basement and the ground floor.

In American English, “ground floor” and “first floor” mean the same thing. I’m not sure what you mean.
