My Plants

My interest in plants appeared when I was little. That is probably something that was passed down onto me from my grandparents. Especially my grandmother used to spend a lot of time taking care of plants. She grew a wide variety of them, ranging from vegetables in a garden to flowers all around the house. My grandfather was more interested in growing different types of plants, such as fruit trees or grapevine. Because I spent a lot of time with them, I have developed the interest in gardening.

I like growing herbs that can be used for cooking or making tea. For the cooking, I have oregano, thyme, sage, and chives. I love herbal teas. I make them both from home-grown herbs, such as peppermint, sage, balm, and marigold; and picked herbs—coltsfoot, meadowsweet, flowers of lime tree, and other.

This year, I grow milk thistle for seeds that have strong regenerative effects on liver. I shouldn't have sown it so densely, because it made them to grow thin and have smaller flowers, which in turn caused them to be prone to bad weather. It all lay down the same way as wheat does due to windy and rainy weather, but that is not an issue—the real issue is thorns. It is impossible to pick the dried out blossoms without at least two pairs of gloves.

Currently, it is the third season I have been growing chili peppers. I have tried many varieties of both species Capsicum Annum and Capsicum Chinense. Varieties of Capsicum Annum are the most common one. Capsicum Chinense is a species originating in tropical and subtropical parts of the world. They have a distinctive fruity taste and a high content of capsaicin—substance responsible for sensation of burning.

There is yet another plant that I have tried to grow for many years. It is called Lycium Barbarum and Lycium Chinense, or commonly referred as Goji Berry Plant. It is a perennial plant producing red berries each year. I haven't been very successful in recent years and I had to deal with many adversities. I could say a lot about this plant, but let's save it for another time.

There is yet another plant that I have triedbeen trying to grow for many years.

I would change it to "I have been trying to grow" if you are still trying. If you've given up, then "I have tried to grow" is correct (because it means that you stopped).

I shouldn't have sown it so densely, planted the seeds so close together because it made them to grow thin and have smaller flowers, which in turn caused them to be prone to bad weather.

Not sure I understand the end of the sentence ("which in turn caused them to be prone to bad weather"). Do you mean that they couldn't survive bad weather?

Again, not 100% sure what you mean here by "lay down" :(
