Hobbies

I have to admit, I’m a bit of a hobby collector! I have many, and most of them are quite time-consuming.
You could dedicate your entire life to any one of them.
One of them is playing the piano. Learning a new piece takes a lot of effort, and if I don't practice regularly, I forget it very easily.

I love playing the piano.
It teaches you a very important lesson: you just have to keep going until you get it right. If you make a mistake, you must continue. It’s great for building stress resistance!

Another big passion of mine is English language.
I also consider learning English as a hobby, even though it has a professional purpose for me. My main goal is to be able to read scientific papers and articles in psychology. But honestly, a big part of it is just the love of communication. I simply enjoy talking to people! And now, it opens up the opportunity to connect with people from other cultures, which really broadens my mind sometimes. For example, I recently learned that spring begins in the US on the vernal ( spring) equinox.

I love watching TV series in English.
I've been remembering the TV show Lucifer…My, what an actor! The Devil himself would seem lacking in originality and authenticity beside him; temptation laces his every word…
(In the original, every word he says feels like a real temptation (seduction)). In the Russian version, the translation strips away all that charisma… (In the Russian translation, that charisma is completely lost).

Moreover, some of the humor in a comedy series is lost if you're not watching it in English.
(Plus, some jokes in comedy shows only make sense in English). That's why I want to watch movies in the original — and only the original!»

Although, for me, watching series in the original is still a huge challenge... One episode takes up my whole day!
Watching series in general is my way to relax, so I hope that soon I'll start watching english original-language series for the same purpose.

And finally, I’m an avid gardener.
When I need to completely switch my brain off from scientific thinking and hypotheses, I turn to gardening. It’s my form of meditation.

It’s like a miracle watching a seed turn into a plant with fruit. Tasting something you’ve just picked from your own garden is an incomparable feeling—it’s alive. (And there is nothing quite like the taste of food you’ve just picked from your own garden.)

And I love watering the plants with a high-pressure hose; it feels like the energy of a river is flowing right through you( me). I enjoy watching plants perk up after watering. So do I.

I love cooking and inventing new dishes.
I love traveling, I love mountains. I love flying on airplanes.
I love taking pictures.
I love learning, especially when I can apply the knowledge.
I'm also studying screenwriting. It's also very time-consuming…

(So, having so many hobbies is like…)
Having all these hobbies really helps me to balance my life. If something goes wrong, one of them always brings me joy.

After a tough day or a disappointment, life can seem dark, but one of my hobbies always brings back the joy. Right now, for instance, learning English is really fulfilling me. I can see my progress, and that makes me genuinely happy.
( I started taking classes, and I can already see a new level of progress and quality in my language skills, and that brings me happiness.)

Having many hobbies is a great way to keep life balanced, don’t you think?

Feedback

Yes, your English is veryyy good.

I have many hobbies too, one of them is language learning. I know a little about the piano, but I play the electronic keyboard. Hobbies offer many benefits, and I have read that they help improve our mental health.

Wishing you success in fulfilling your goals.
