My Day

I only had two classes today, but they are separated into the morning and afternoon.

My first class started at eight, and that’s really a hard time for me to get up,I stopped the alarm and kept sleeping for another 15minutes, until my roommates woke me up.It was a grammar class and I always find difficulty learning English grammar, I’m also wondering do you native speakers attach so much importance to the grammar? I was confused of the possessive case, our teacher said that it can just be used in certain occasions, especially when the subject is something alive.Grammar seemed boring to me…maybe because I didn’t excel at it.

Another class I took today is about English country and culture,I love this class so much!!! We learned many historical events and the customs of English-speaking countries. What troubles me most is the Rating system. The whole class is divided into three groups and all the scores are attached tightly, which means the group members will share the same score in the final, since there isn’t any score based on your single performance.

I haven’t tried dancing for a long time, and today I went to the dancing club, learning jazz. I’m still a slow learner. But I acquired a lot.Sometimes sweating is a kind of joy.

Thank you! I do try to pay attention to it subconsciously, but sometimes I still forget 😅 I’ll be more careful next time. Thanks for pointing that out!

We don’t attach much importance to knowing grammatical terms, such as “future perfect” and “conjunction,” but we do rely on grammar to help us understand what you mean. Grammatical mistakes that don’t impede understanding aren’t very important to most native English speakers, because we can mentally correct the mistakes in our heads, but sometimes grammar does affect meaning. For example, if you said, “Tomorrow I went to the store,” I wouldn’t know which error to correct in my mind, “tomorrow” (future) or “went” past.

Another class I took today is about English-speaking countryies and culture,s. I love this class so much!!! Another class I took today is about English-speaking countries and cultures. I love this class so much!!!

Because “England” is the name of a country, “English” can be an adjective describing things that are “of England,” or a noun referring to the English language. In my correction, changing “English” to “English-speaking” makes it clear that you’re talking about the language, not the country.
