I'm still not sure I understand. From the way you phrased it, it sounds like you're saying that not going on dates will make dating boring, and that making dating boring is a good thing, and that's why you shouldn't go on dates. I don't think this is what you meant.

Ah, I see now. I would express that as something like this:
"Since I can't go to bars or restaurants because of the pandemic, dating is not really much fun anymore, so I don't think trying to go on dates is worth it right now."
The thing is that the verb "should" in "I should shut down my dating life" indicates that not going on dates is a duty or the morally right thing to do (i.e., you have an obligation to make an effort to not go on dates), whereas "não acho que vale a pena" indicates that going on dates is simply something you're not very interested in doing right now.
I hope my explanation made sense.
