I mentioned that I had minored in Chinese Language and Literature during my university years.
It came from a very great system created by an old president of our university. Starting from the second year of their studies, every undergraduate student is allowed to choose to study one or more additional majors. Then, if they have enough college credits in the major, they can have a second diploma, or more.
I've personally benefited greatly from this system. Besides the diploma, I possess an efficient learning ability under pressure, which I've utilized multiple times throughout my career. And more importantly, it was almost free--that's very crucial for the young me. I covered most of my university expenses through government loans, scholarships, and part-time jobs. If this system needed money, even if it was cheap, I might have to give up.
Yesterday, the old president who offered this system passed away, at his 92.
