オーディオロジストの予約

先日、私はオーディオロジストへいきました。日本ではこれは言語聴覚士に相当するかもしれません。とにかく、オーディオロジストの予約についてちょっと話します。
一ヶ月前、私の鼓膜が破れたから、ちゃんと治っていることをチェックしたかったのです。子供の頃から聴力検査を受けていなかったので、少し緊張していました。
まず、医者が私の耳の中を診てくれました。その後、私はヘッドホンを使って、ピーという音を聞きました。ピーという音が聞こえた時、ボタンを押していました。急に、男の低い声が「Repeat the following word: playground」と言いました。本当にびっくりしました！「Hash」や「Keen」や「Hurl」など、私はたくさんの変な言葉を繰り返しました。予約の終わりに、私の聴力は大丈夫ですと言われました。鼓膜がちゃんと治ってほっとしています。面白い経験でした。

The other day, I went to the audiologist. This might be the equivalent of a speech-language-hearing therapist in Japan. Anyways, I'll tell you a little about the audiologist appointment.
A month ago, I ruptured my eardrum, so I wanted to check that it was healing properly. I haven't had a hearing test since I was a kid, so I was a bit nervous.
First, the doctor examined the inside of my ear. Then, I put on headphones and listened to beep sounds. When I heard a beep, I pressed a button. Suddenly, I heard a deep male voice say, "Repeat the following word: playground". I was really surprised! I repeated a lot of strange words like hash and keen and hurl.
At the end of the appointment, I was told my hearing was fine. I'm relieved that my eardrum has healed properly. It was an interesting experience.
