Day 22: The Beepocalypse

Everything beeps. The fridge will hurt if you leave it open for 5 seconds. The microwave oven screams loudly if your meal is ready. The washing machine directs an opera when it finishes the laundry. Does this sounds familiar to you?

Today my dishwasher freaked me out when it beeped to say it was finished, but didn't stop for almost 10 minutes. I had to disconnect it to reset it's freaking computer. Yeah, it has one. So what? It's 2025. Even a coffee machine has an internal computer. That's not the problem. I mean, yes, that's a problem, but that's not the point now. The problem is that why everything is beeping?

If a machine just wrote on a display that it was finished, that would be more than enough. Maybe the engineers think we are all blind. But at least they would have created machines that could talk. Oh, wait... They did. Maybe I should buy a few old machine that don't beep for everything.

I had to disconnect it to reset it's freaking computer. I had to disconnect it to reset its freaking computer.

"it's" - it is "its" - possessive it Lots of native speakers get this wrong too, since normally the possessive s takes an apostrophe, but its is a special case.
