I've been making English sentences using difficult grammar constructions recently.
I got really confused while making those sentences.
By the time I noticed, a lot of time had passed, and I was surprised.

Your original sentence is fine too but it sounds more natural without the word "constructions".

I think the degree of confusion is much stronger than just "really" when you used ものすごく

Your version is correct too, but it is more common to express this feeling with "before I knew it".
