Question Part 2

To enhance my conversations at language exchange meet-ups, I want to prepare questions.
To those who have been living in Japan for several years.

1. Is there anything your image of Japan has changed compared after coming to Japan with before coming to Japan?

2. What did you find Japanese people are strange or weird?

3. What is something you cannot accept or cannot get used to in Japan?

I hate a packed train. Packed trains cannot have been improved at all while technology has advanced rapidly. I always think how many years we should wait for the packed trains to be better. Why Japanese government encourages to build tall buildings in the center of Tokyo and doesn't encourage to build them in the outskirts of Tokyo even though there are many cities undeveloped in the outskirts. If those buildings are dispersed in the outskirts, I think packed trains might be improved. I feel always miserable to see a train on the opposite lane is almost empty while the train I get on is fully packed.

4. As you may know, there are some people on the bicycles shout "go away!" or almost rush into us without saying anything when we walk on the streets. I really want to kick them down.
Are there crazy cyclists like this in your country?

5. Some people say their characters change when speaking in English and when speaking in Japanese.
Does your character change as well when you speak both languages?

WhyI don't know Japanese government encourages to buildhe construction of tall buildings in the center of Tokyo and doesn't encourage to build themheir construction in the outskirts of Tokyo, even though there are many cities undeveloped cities in the outskirts.

I don't know if you are asking a question here or making a remark like "why the Japanese government does etc. ..., I will never know" . I'm going to assume you were not. Also, I changed how you said "encourages to build..." as I feel "the construction of..." sounds more natural. Good work so far though!

Does your character change as well when you speak both languages?

Do you mean character as in personality or demeanor? Perhaps those are alternative words you could use in place of "character". Up to you, but no issues here. It still makes sense.

To those who have been living in Japan for several years.

Tto those who have been living in Japan for several years. to those who have been living in Japan for several years.

Make this one sentence :)

To those who have been living in Japan for several years.: To those who have been living in Japan for several years:

1. Is there anything your image of Japan has changed compared after coming to Japan with before coming to Japan?

1. Is there anythingHas your image of Japan has changed compared after coming to Japan with before coming to Japan? 1. Has your image of Japan changed after coming?

This is way too long and long-winded so I made it short. There are a lot of ways you could write this but I figured it would be easy to rewrite it entirely. You could also say "How is your image of Japan different from how it was prior to coming?" or something. Whatever works for you, just make sure not to pack to much into it :)

1. Is there anythingHas your image of Japan has changed compared after coming to Japan with beforsince coming to Japan? 1. Has your image of Japan changed since coming to Japan?

You don't need to specify that you're comparing with their image of Japan before they came since that's implied by "since coming...".

2. What did you find Japanese people are strange or weird?

2. What did you find about Japanese people arethat was strange or weird? 2. What did you find about Japanese people that was strange or weird?

Don't forget to add "about" in this case, as it sounds like you are referring to Japanese people as a whole, single subject and not their specific qualities. Simple mistake with an easy fix! :)

2. What dido you find Japanese people are strange or weirdstrange or weird about Japanese people? 2. What do you find strange or weird about Japanese people?

3. What is something you cannot accept or cannot get used to in Japan?

I hate a packed train.

I hate a packed train. I hate a packed train.

Me too

I hate a packed (crowded) trains. I hate packed (crowded) trains.

Packed trains cannot have been improved at all while technology has advanced rapidly.

Packed trains cannot have beenThe issue of packed trains has not improved at all while technology has advanced rapidly. The issue of packed trains has not improved at all while technology has advanced rapidly.

If you are trying to say the issue of trains being packed hasn't been rectified or fixed in contrast to technological advances then this is a better way to say it, as "cannot have been improved" doesn't make sense. I would also say "The issue of packed trains has not changed at all while technology has advanced". Again, a lot of ways to word this but here are some suggestions :)

Packed trains cannot have been improved at all while technology has advanced rapidlyEven though technology has rapidly advanced, trains are still packed. Even though technology has rapidly advanced, trains are still packed.

I always think how many years we should wait for the packed trains to be better.

I always thinkwonder how many years we shouldwill have to wait for the issue of packed trains to be bettersolved. I always wonder how many years we will have to wait for the issue of packed trains to be solved.

Why does the Japanese government encourages to buildhe construction of tall buildings in the center of Tokyo and doesn't encourage to build them in the outskirts of Tokyo even thoughnot in the outskirts despite there arebeing many cities undeveloped in the outskirts.underdeveloped cities in those areas? Why does the Japanese government encourage the construction of tall buildings in the center of Tokyo and not in the outskirts despite there being many underdeveloped cities in those areas?

If those buildings are dispersed in the outskirts, I think packed trains might be improved.

If those buildings are dispersed in the outskirts, I think the issue of packed trains might be improved. If those buildings are dispersed in the outskirts, I think the issue of packed trains might be improved.

Sounds more clear and natural to me this way.

If those buildings arewere more evenly dispersed , I think the outskirts, I think packissue of crowded trains might be improved. If buildings were more evenly dispersed, I think the issue of crowded trains might improve.

I feel always miserable to see a train on the opposite lane is almost empty while the train I get on is fully packed.

I feel always feel miserable to seeing a train on the opposite lane is almost empty while the train I get on is fully packed. I always feel miserable seeing a train on the opposite lane almost empty while the train I get on is fully packed.

These aren't totally necessary changes but I think the way I wrote is again more clear and natural, as these sentences feel unnecessarily cluttered and long-winded to me. The only thing that would be necessary is the the order of the words "feel" and "always" at the start, other than that it works :)

I feel always feel miserable towhen I see a train on the opposite lanetracks is almost empty while the train I getone I am getting on is fully packed. I always feel miserable when I see a train on the opposite tracks is almost empty while the one I am getting on is full.
