The Third Plant

The third plant I bought for this Chinese New Year is not a kind of flower. It's a popular foliage plant in China, called Wenzhu. You can see it here: https://youtube.com/shorts/pcnjBLGjsnc?si=Suk-cBjZs9CMPDiS

That's me, myself practicing a photography Calligraphy in the video. There are many pieces of red paper left from preparing for the Chinese New Year.

So sometimes I practice calligraphy with them. Sometimes, after finishing writing, I stick them on the wall. It's quite fun.

As always, please let me know if you find any mistakes in the video. Your feedback is very important to me. Thank you in advance!

The Third Plant

The third plant I bought for this Chinese New Year is not a kind of flower / is not a flowering plant.

It's a popular foliage plant in China, called Wenzhu.

It’s more natural without the comma. Some people even consider that comma incorrect, although I do not.

You can see it here: https://youtube.com/shorts/pcnjBLGjsnc?si=Suk-cBjZs9CMPDiS

That's me, myself, practicing a photography Ccalligraphy in the video.

Alternatively. You could omit “myself” and both commas.

There are many pieces of red paper left from preparing for the Chinese New Year, so sometimes I practice calligraphy on them.

It’s more natural to join these two sentences.

Since we write or paint “on” paper, not “with” it, “on” feels right to me here.

Sometimes, after finishing writing, I stick them on the wall.

It's quite fun.

Feedback

What is a “photography calligraphy”? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this term before.

Thanks again!

That's a redundant word.

I've been trying to write entries with speech input recently. And I didn't find this mistake while checking. Sorry about the confusion.

Have a nice day!

Ok. I’ve revised my correction, deleting both “a” and “photography.”

Feedback

I'm just going to give feedback about the video, which was great! I always learn something.

You probably know that the suffix -ed has three sounds. There are lists of words and information about this online, so I won't elaborate.
The word "introduced" has 3 syllables because the "ed" is pronounced as "t" ("introdoost")
The word "called" has 1 syllable because the "ed" is pronounced as "d." ("calld")

The third sound for the suffix -ed is "id." Examples are "wanted" and "painted." In these words, the -ed suffix is a syllable.

Ah, thank you!

That's new for me! I didn't know that before. I mean I know the last two sounds, but I didn't know the first one.

Thanks again!

Have a nice day!
