日本語では「つ」は時々、「っ」になる。「つ」次字は声はない子音（か）であれば、多分「っ」になると思う。

前の数字の同じく、普通の漢字の読み方の様子が違うけど、前の数字を比べて、三の読み方の様子がちょっと推測することができる。結婚した形（音読み）は「さん」ので、三日、三つ、三日月では訓読みが表れる。残り様子では「さん」が表れる。一つ結婚した様子では「みつ」が表れる。例えば、三枚と、三人と、三月の「三」の読み方は「さん」だ。数はそなに難しくない！ぜひ、「三」がある言葉があれば、読み方を推測してください。

There's some information that's important for this program, so I'll explain it.
In Japanese,「つ」sometimes becomes「っ」。To be exact, if the next character after「つ」is voiceless（like か）then it will probably become a「っ」.

The readings of 三are「さん」and「みつ」。
Similar to the last numbers, the pattern of how the kanji is read is different from the pattern used by normal kanji. However, compared to those last couple of numbers, 三 does have a predictable pattern. The married from (Onyomi) is 「さん」so in 三日、三つ、三日月 is where the kunyomi appears. There is only one situation where the married pattern occurs with the 「みつ」 pronunciation. In the rest, 「さん」 is used。For example, 三枚と、三人と、三月「三」's readings are all「さん」。I guess counting isn't actually that hard! so if you see「三」 in a word, by all means, try to guess the readings。

I think this is little bit wrong. Words come after「っ」are always consonant. But, 「っ」itself is voiceless and we can't predict the pattern. for example...
つみき Building blocks, おつかい errand
みっきー Mickey mouse, こっかい national assembly

Just because the kanji is coupled, it doesn't mean they are always 音読み. These patterns are also difficult for Japanese people.
残り様子他の場合では「さん」が表れる（現れる）。
一つ結婚合した様子では「みつ場合には「さん（？）」が表れる。
