Why should you start speaking in your TL NOW?

I really get a buzz of speaking to people in my target languages. Today, I spoke English 4 hours in total, and it was awesome! I always look forward to attend the German speaking club I've already mentioned here before, since practicing in real life feels more gratifying to me than conversing on the Internet. It's such a pleasure to be able to express yourself eloquently and realizie that all the efforts you've put in were not in vain. Speaking gives you motivation to carry on with learning and rewards you for the hard work you've been doing on learning grammar, vocabulary, etc.. At first, it's probably not going to be that easy or satisfying, but, sometimes, the best thing you can do, really, is to stop hesitating and plunge in!

@lawdavid and @Fifi_Dubois noticed the necessary correction: "I look forward to attending." I think when the writing is so proficient, native readers tend to fill in what is expected, not noticing a detail like this because we are reading mostly for meaning.

I didn't intend it as an ellipse, it's the contraction etc. + dot at the end of the sentence. Does this make sense? Thank you for your helpful feedback, Biome!

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/get-a-buzz-out-of I had stumbled upon this phrase a couple of months ago and decided to use it myself for the first time yesterday, but it seems like it's not that popular nowadays? Also, could you please explain the reason why I should say ''the motivation'' with a definite article in the sentence second to last? I still struggle to understand these things sometimes... Thank you so much, Toluwani!

You are welcome :) Yh, I don't think it's popular phrase but I know it now :) https://preply.com/en/blog/8-rules-for-using-the-article-the-in-english/ Check this blog post out. “The” is typically used in accompaniment with any noun with a specific meaning, or a noun referring to a single thing. Motivation is a noun with a specific meaning, i.e. this motivation is caused by speaking. I hope my explanation is clear enough.

Since you're writing from a first-person point of view, I would recommend sticking to that, unless you want to intentionally switch to a second-person point of view, which uses you as the main pronoun.

You use three periods for ellipses.

At first, it's probably not going to be that easy or satisfying, but, sometimes, the best thing you can do, really, is to stop hesitating and plunge in!

I wanted to give alternative words to "satisfying" to give more variety.

"really" is unnecessary and sort of interrupts the flow of the sentence.
