The first day of 20

Dear journal, today i turned 20 years old. So i have decided to write something for this speacial day and to improve my english. Actually my ability of understand english is very good but i dont think i am not really good at speaking or writing because i dont really practise them. I still make mistakes even when using the most basic grammar topics. However i know people will help me to correct them even though it is wrong to read someone else's journal :).

"don't" must always have an apostrophe. "Don't" is short for "do not", and the apostrophe shows us something is missing, just like "I'm" (I am), "you're" (you are), "we'll" (we will), etc.

Although common online, starting sentences with a conjunction (And, but) is formally incorrect. English speakers get around this by changing the structure of the sentence, or putting words or phrases like "HOwever", "That being said". I absolutely understand it though - just important to know that if you were writing a formal letter, that this sentence would look a bit out of place! The same thing goes with the capitalised "i".
