I was busy because my colleague has been sick with coronavirus. She needs to be absent for a few days.
I‘m going to watch a baseball game tomorrow.
I’ll be back on time!

後輩がコロナになってかなり忙しいです。
明日は野球をに行くので、定時に帰るぞ！

If she is still currently sick I think "is" sounds better.
She needs to be's been absent for a few days.
I think this just sounds more natural.
