Life at the Ports (end)

I used to all the things at the ports gradually. Unfortunately, I got ill one day after I have been there for about 10 months. I ate some pork ribs stewed with radish, the radish was not washed well and with some pesticide in it. My boss sent me to the nearest hospital quickly. I had no medical insurance, so I paid the all medicine and treatment fees at the hospital by myself.

I felt terrible and disliked the hospital staff. They were afraid I was not able to pay the fees and forced me to leave after a week. Actually, it was not so hard for me to pay for it. I read out an order from a ship to my boss in a trembling voice, "cabbage 50 kilos, carrot 50 kilos, pork rib 300 kilos, apple 500 kilos..." The pesticide affected some nerves, I felt the sky and the ground revolve around me, and I even couldn't stand up alone. My boss said sorry to me and recruit another staff without paying me anything.

My girlfriend quickly took me back to her kindergarten. A month later, I insist left SZ and went back to my hometown though she didn't want me to go away from her. She saw me off at the airport full of tears, I owe her a lot.
I have met both unconcerned and loved in SZ, I will never forget this vibrant city.

My boss sent (took?) me to the nearest hospital quickly.

When you say that your boss “sent” you to the hospital, it explicitly means that he did not take you there himself. If he took you himself, use “took” instead of “sent.”
