About twenty years ago, I was a Skype user, but it officially ceased operations in 2025.
I have not been using HelloTalk for a long time.
The reason I stopped using it for so long is that I felt there were very few serious learners on it.
Duolingo is like playing a game.
I have been using Duolingo for one and a half years.
What I find very important is that learning this way never feels boring; instead, I always feel motivated.
What are your effective ways to learn languages?
I think recounting is the best way of learning languages.
Retelling a story is a great way to practice your target language.
This way forces me to open my mouth.
I have tried to retell the biblical stories in English.
In my spare time, I picked out another video, and I'll retell the story in English.
I find this method to be very helpful for me.

Since you use "recounting" in the previous sentence as a way to refer to this method, I would continue to use it here (although I understood what you meant by using "retelling").

This is good. I think "recount" works a little better as a word, as it means "to relate in detail." "Retell" means about the same thing but sounds a bit more colloquial--it might be a word I use in spoken language but wouldn't use very much in writing. You could also use "translate," i.e.: "I think translating is the best way to learn a language." But I think whatever you chose just be consistent in your style!
