先月、私は初めてボランティア活動に参加しました。地域の公園を掃除すつ活動で、約二十人の参加者が集まりました。最初走らない人ばかりで、緊張しましたが、皆親切で、すぐに打ち解けることができました。 私たちは2つグループに分かれて、ゴミ拾いと花壇の手入れをしました。私は花壇のグループに入り、雑草を抜いたり、花に水をやったりしました。思ったよりも大変作業でしたが、終わったあとにきれいになった花壇を見るととても達成感があります。
Last month, I participated in a volunteer activity for the first time. It was an event to clean up the local park, and about twenty people gathered. At first, I was nervous since no one knew each other, but everyone was so kind that I quickly felt at ease.
We split into two groups: one for picking up litter and the other for tending to the flower beds. I joined the flower bed group, where we pulled weeds and watered the flowers. The work was harder than I had imagined, but seeing the neat and tidy flower beds afterward gave me a great sense of accomplishment.
