Her parents died of diseases when she was at the age of fourteen. Starving to death, they broke into a kitchen of a farmhouse in Texas. While they were swallowing food, they were caught up by the farmer whose wife has just passed away a year ago. The man invited them to the table and gave them some meat and soup. He has three children who were about the age of this girl. Since then, the two children had stayed at his home. He was nice to them and took care of them well. A few months later, he proposed to this beautiful girl who was plump and healthy then. This farmer was also a horseman. He was quite wealthy and possessed lands, horses and some wild animals. He was kind too, and had cured the wounded wild animals. He treated her well and seldom asked her to do the farm work or housework. She accepted his propose.
