022402-The war

I woke up from my long afternoon sleep and found news about war full on my phone screen. I hope it was a piece of fake news, but it wasn't. One of my online friends said she was so scared, me too. I feel really sad and I hate war because lives are so valuable and peace is so vulnerable.

Thanks, I learned a lot to express "the same feeling" in various and natural ways today ;)

I woke up from my long afternoon sleep and foundheard the news about war full on my phone screen.

a "news item" or "news article" can be "found", but "news" can be "read" or "heard", not "found".

I hoped it was a piece of fake news, but it wasn't.

Was in present tense instead of past tense

One of my online friends said she was so scared, me. I am too.

I feel really sad and I hate war because lives are so valuable and peace is so vulnerable.

I hoped it was a piece of fake news, but it wasn't.

Should I use "were" to express my feeling that I don't hope it is true?

'Me too' is idiomatically correct, and reads as slightly more natural to me than 'I am too', which seems overly emphatic. I think it may be a process of ellipsis, which is a strong force in English - that we understand something like '[subject] affects/is present for me too'.

I don't think we would necessarily expect to 'hear' news on a phone screen... it seems the original intent is something like 'I found my phone screen full of news about war'.

Otherwise it is a well written piece, and I agree with ekksikajika's commentary :-)
