That 뿐이란, is it a contraction of something? I think I’ve seen -이란 as short for X이라는 것 like “the thing called X” but that doesn’t seem like it here.

뿐이란 is short for 뿐이라는, it doesn't include the 것 part. "The fact *that it only* makes me study harder"
