“你”是普通称谓，适用于平辈之间，长辈对于晚辈，上级对于下级的情况，而“您”是尊敬称谓，适用于晚辈对于长辈，或者下级对领导的的称谓。
to put it in simpler term, it means 你 for friends while 您 for the superiors so in this case since it is in working condition, and you are meeting the person for the first time, I would suggest you using 您
