日本語で久しぶりに書きました。最近忙しかったからあんまり勉強しなかったんです。今の問題は勉強しないから新しい単語を覚えられないんです。でも日本語のレッスンがまだあるからちょっと学んでいます。時間があったら将来には書いてみたいです。

Since this is the first sentence, it is more natural to explicitly say what you wrote,
最近忙しかったからあんまり勉強しなかったんです。¶
or ¶
最近忙しかったからあんまり勉強できなかったんです。
If you chose not to study because you were busy, the original sentence is fine. However, if yo want to express how you lacked the time to study Japanese, its better to say 「できなかった」
時間があったら将来には今後も書いてみたいです。
Using the word 「今後も」shows the continuation of your effort!!
