『あつまれ　どうぶつの森』をしているの？先週ついに発売されてから、差し当たり外出しないようにしているし、日夜している（笑）。どうぶつの村民たちは、英語版と原版の日本版に、色んな違いがあることは面白いと思う。たとえば、「まめきち」と「つぶきち」は、たぬきちさんの「Tom Nook」のちび版だから、英語版に「Tommy」と「Timmy」と言うんだ。可愛すぎる名前だろう。そして、原版に、あのふたりはちび版だから、名前は「豆」と「粒」という言葉を組み込んだ。そして、プロデューサーの野上さんと任天堂アメリカのローカライズ部は最高だ。

Are you playing "Animal Crossing: New Horizons"? Ever since it finally got released last week, and because I'm trying to not leave the house for the time being, I've been playing non-stop. I think it's interesting that there are various differences between the English and original Japanese versions of the villagers. For example, Mamekichi and Tsubukichi, because they're chibi versions of Tanukichi, i.e. Tom Nook, get called Tommy and Timmy. And because they're chibi versions, their original names incorporate 「豆」and「粒」. It's super cute. The producer, Nogami-san, and Nintendo of America's localization team is truly impressive.
