It happened when I was at school. On our end-of-year trip we went to Greece to see the Acropolis of Athens. Our history teacher came with us to teach us about the art and architecture of the place. Although it was surprisingly crowded and we were there for a week, it was worth it.
When you visit historical places like this, it feels as if you were on another planet. And that happened to me as I saw the Parthenon. Despite my expectations were high, I was amazed by its majesty. Our teacher told us about its importance, the civilization who built it and what values it represented at present. It was an unforgettable experience.
And so, I am now looking forward to visiting the Colosseum in Rome. It's my next destination of exploration and learning about ancient cultures.
