A couple days ago, I've started learning Chinese on Duolingo. I've only passed the first lesson by far. I had two reasons to try learning Chinese. The first reason is that a friend of mine is learning it now. She's been talking about it a lot, and I thought give it a try. She's been studying almost one year already, and she's done a huge progress. The second reason is that I heard a good review from a guy from YouTube. He made a good point that learning Chinese or Japanese on Duolingo are worth the effort. I like that Duolingo is fun and easy to learn, however, I found that learning English using it was way too easy and not that efficient for me. I think I'll learn Chinese little by little on Duolingo and see how it goes. I don't want to tell my friend yet, and maybe I could surprise her one day with couple phrases in Chinese.

The phrase "a couple days" is technically incorrect but it is not uncommon informally, often used when talking.
"When a couple of is used before a noun, writers often drop the preposition of, mistakenly using the noun couple as an adjective. This usage is informal and should be avoided in writing. The noun phrase a couple needs the preposition of to link it to another noun."

I don't want to tell my friend yet, and maybe I couldone day I will be able to surprise her one day with a couple of phrases in Chinese.
The location of "one day" sounds incorrect, but I am unable to find a rule on where it should be located in a sentence. I also think it could go at the end of the sentence "maybe I can surprise her with a couple of phrases in Chinese one day."
