When I finished middle school studying, I left my hometown and studied at a specialized secondary school which is in the city l live in now.

My hometown is about 70 kilometers away from the city, so I could only go back to my home on summer breaks and winter breaks.

I didn't have much pressure on studies when I was in that specialized school, because students who were accepted by specialized schools meant that they already got the qualification to work for the government after three years of studying.

Therefore, life in that specialized school was very different from when it was in middle school. We were very relaxed and could have a little fun.

Learning to sing new songs almost became a habit of every student. Each of them would have a notebook that was used to write down some new songs.

I remember there was a movie back then called "A Sweet Career" and the movie had the theme music called "Our Lives are Full of Sunshine", which was a little popular.

So I learned to sing it and after a while of practice I could pull it off.

In the summer break, I went back to my village. One night, I slept with other teenagers on the threshing ground. I sang this song for them and they were surprised.

Now, I want to translate the song's lyrics for you.

“Our Lives are Full of Sunshine”

Happy flowers are blooming in our hearts
The songs of love drift with the wind
Our hearts fly far away
Longing for the beautiful revolutionary ideal
Ah, dear ones, go hand in hand, go hand in hand
Our lives are full of sunshine, full of sunshine

The sister flowers are competing to bloom
The inseparable love birds spread their wings to enjoy flying
Facing the wind and rain of fighting on the long march
Contribute youth and strength to the motherland
Ah, dear ones, go hand in hand, go hand in hand
Our life is full of sunshine, full of sunshine

You could also say "...a specialized secondary school where I live now."

Learning to sing new songs almost became a habit of almost every student.

The way you wrote it makes it sound like every student got close to making that a habit. What you more likely mean is that almost all of the students made it a habit, but some of them didn't.

Each of them would have a notebook that wasthey used to write down some new songs.

I remember there was a movie back then called "A Sweet Career" and the moviethat had thea theme musicsong called "Our Lives are Full of Sunshine"," which was a little popular.

"Theme music" would refer to multiple songs. You're talking about just one song, so "theme song" is the correct term. The rest of the corrections are stylistic.

So I learned to sing it and after a while ofsome practice I could pull it off.

You could also say, "after a lot of practice" or "after a little practice" depending on how much practice it took.

InDuring the summer break, I went back to my village.

One night, I slept with other teenagers on the threshing ground.

I sang this song for them and they were surprised.

Feedback

Great job! I could clearly understand everything you said. Almost all of my corrections were just to make you sound more natural. I didn't correct the song lyrics at all, because poetry and song lyrics aren't always grammatically correct. They have to fit the rhythm of the song and are more artistic.
