I planted green onion on my balcony about two weeks ago. It looked they hadn't grown at all, and people said that it's hard to grow during the cold weather, so I gave up watering them. But yesterday morning, I looked at the containers that I planted green onion seeds, I noticed that some buds spouted. It took more than two weeks to germinate. I was happy to see it! But my dad said that his green onion has withered in his patch, and it was too late to plant. I understand that it's hard to grow plants during winter, but I'll water them and wait and see.

Well written! I get your struggle, growing plants in the winter is definitely a challenge. I love gardening too and I've got a lot of plants in my house, so I understand. So good luck with growing your onions. :) Just try not to overwater them, as they don't need as much water in the winter. Because of the cold weather the soil doesn't dry as quickly, so too much moisture can cause the plant to rot from underneath and eventually wither.

Thank you for the corrections and the comment! That's cool. Yes, I'll be careful not to water too much. I've developed a interest in gardening recently. I hope to have a lot of flowers and plants on my balcony eventually.

Thank you for the corrections! My dad has his own patch, and had grown green onions. He gave me the seeds, and I planted them on my balcony. I mean we both were too late to plant the seeds. We should've planted them in warmer season.
