Bread Making Failed

My daughter said that she wanted to make some bread by herself this morning, I encouraged her, and all of us were looking forward to enjoying the fresh bread. We bought an electric home use oven which is 50cm long, 50cm wide and 60cm high. We have never baked bread before because we don't know how to make it.
We prepared some essential ingredients like flour, butter, egg, and yeast for her. She did that hard and seriously. We were not surprised to see the final result this evening, you can see the picture I attached here below.
Yes, the first tray of bread she made failed. The bread can be eaten but not soft. The key mistake is probably due to not fully covering the cough, so proof dough failed.
We will be doing better next time I believe.

It seems that there are not many words to praise a dish in Japanese, most of them are "美味し", and even native Japanese only speak this word. There are many words like "delicious, " "delectable" and "sweet"..in English. And of course, that's because I don't know.

My favorite in English is probably, "Yum!" "That looks awesome!" is another one I use often. :)

We bought an electric home -use oven which is 50cm long, 50cm wide, and 60cm high.

or you could just cut "home-use" since it's kind of implied

We prepared some essential ingredients like flour, butter, eggs, and yeast for her.

just going based on the title and the ingredients here... i'm thinking the eggs may have something to do with the fail lol

She did that hard and seriouslytook it seriously and worked very hard on it.

I think that was what your sentence meant - you can do something seriously, but "she did that hard" sounds.... very strange

The bread can be eaten but not softit's too dense.

going back to this after reading that you thought proofing was the problem (i wasn't sure what "soft" meant originally): bread can be too dense if it doesn't have a lot of air bubbles in it. if you don't let your dough proof properly, the gluten in it won't stretch while it bakes to let the air pockets form, making a really heavy, dense bread, that's edible but not very good haha.

The key mistake is probably due to not fully covering the cdough, so proof dough failed during proofing.

i'm guessing cough was just a typo, and if you want to talk about bread that has already undergone proofing, you call it "proofed dough" with a soft F sound, not like V

the photo didn't look too bad! and since i know some stuff about making bread, here's some advice:

the eggs + proofing were probably the biggest issues. both of them prevent the proper development of gluten. most breads have no egg whatsoever, and while some have butter, most are just flour, water, salt, and yeast, and maybe sugar. butter and eggs are fats which ruin gluten development. without gluten, the bread can't retain its shape when an air bubble forms inside. instead of the bread growing around it, the air bubble will just pop and escape the bread, making it very dense. (this is how cakes work! cakes have tons of fats like eggs, butter, and oil, and so they need stuff like baking soda or baking powder to rise.) proofing is supposed to allow gluten in the bread to develop also, so if that got messed up too then the bread probably didn't have enough gluten :( but hopefully the next attempt will go better!

i feel like this is confirming to me that i watch too many baking videos... lol

Thank you very much!
Yes, 'not soft' should be changed to 'dense', and 'cough' was a typo of 'dough'.
It's amazing and most of us don't know that some bread has no eggs, you are kind of professional in baking.
