Le mois dernier, je suis allé à un restaurant indien très populaire dans ma ville avec des amis après une randonnée le matin. J'adore commander l'agneau tikka masala parce que c'est le premier plat indien que j'aime. C'est difficile de trouver un bon restaurant indien, donc je suis très heureuse qu'ils soient délicieux. Ils ont même un burger végétarien pour notre ami. J'ai aussi commandé un lassi à la mangue pour mon petit ami parce qu'il aime la boisson. Il y a deux semaines, mon petit ami et moi sommes allés au restaurant et on a commandé un plat supplémentaire au porteur. C’était très bon et maintenant c’est un restaurant de base si on est dans la zone.
Recently I went to a very popular Indian restaurant in the city with some friends after a morning hike. I love ordering lamb tikka masala because it was the first Indian dish I had ever tried a long time ago. It's pretty hard to find a good Indian place, so I was so happy to find they made their food really well. They even have veggie burgers for our vegetarian friend. I also ordered a mango lassi for my partner because he really likes that drink. About two weeks later, I took my partner to the restaurant, and we ordered an extra to take home. It was so good and is now a staple if we are ever in the area.

Sounds a bit more elegant to use an adjective here

to try, to taste (food) = goûter a long time ago = il y a longtemps
C'est difficile de trouver un bon restaurant indien, donc je suisj'ai été très heureuse qu'ils soient délicieuxde voir que celui-ci faisait de la bonne cuisine.
"ils" here would be an oddity because there is no plural noun to refer to. I've tried to stick close to the original text I WAS happy = j'AI ÉTÉ heureuse ("j'ÉTAIS" would work too, but you need a past tense) celui-ci = this (particular) restaurant (the one you're talking about)

J'ai aussi commandé un lassi à la mangue pour mon petit ami, parce qu'il aime la boissonça.
You could say "aimer CETTE boisson", but "aimer LA boisson" in French tends to mean "to hit the bottle"

You could also say "un extra" or "un petit extra" in French food to take home = plat/nourriture à emporter
C’était très bon et maintenant, c’est un restaurant de base siincontournable pour nous quand on est dans le quartier/les parages/le voisinage/la zone.
"un incontournable" would be a good translation of "staple"
