I am not entirely sure what you meant. The first part of the sentence is great, but the second half "aber Süditalien ein bisschen zu heiß für ihm sein können." is grammatically wrong. You might mean it could be too warm. Then you would say: "..., aber Süditalien könnte ein bisschen zu heiß sein für ihn." So that would imply the dog is not currently there or he is only been there for a short time and you are not sure. Or you just simply mean that it is too hot for the dog. Then you would write the sentence as in the correction.
