I think you probably meant “cool” in English for the “かっこいい” part, but I think I would probably say something like “センスのいいお土産,” “おしゃれなお土産,”or “映えるお土産.”

As for fireflies, since I live in the city, I’m afraid I haven’t had the chance to see any. There might have been some when I was a child. I’m not sure whether Sumoto City is more like the city or the countryside, but I hope there will be a chance! August is when many people in Japan take summer vacation, so I think there will be college students and office workers around.
Thank you! My friend lives in the countryside but said fireflies might be dead in August, but she wasn't sure. I want to see them because they don't live in Australia. I hope I can meet Japanese holidaymakers and have conversations!
