A groups of cats have been using my roof as their sandbox. My whole roof is covered by cat turds, and now it got even worse. The last couple of days it has been raining, so most of the turds fell on my house's gutters. Today, I had to climb up to the roof to clean the blocked gutters. It wasn't a good experience.

My whole roof is covered byin cat turds, and now it gothas gotten even worse.
Could also be 'covered with'. For me, the 'now' requires a present perfect 'has gotten' rather than past simple 'got'.
The last couple of days it has been raining, so most of the turds fell inton my house's gutters.

Doesn't sound like a good experience at all!
